Meet Aesha Tahir | Exercise Physiologist , Wellness Consultant, Author, and Speaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aesha Tahir and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aesha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I founded my wellness enterprise with the sole purpose of helping others. As someone who has always been a bit of a health nut, I realized that my sedentary and stressful lifestyle was costing my health; when I experienced lower back pain and sciatica. In my search for a holistic approach to healing my body, I discovered various ways to improve our lives through simple changes in our workstyle and diet. After identifying the modalities that were effective, I studied under the guidance of the best instructors. As I implemented these changes, my friends and family noticed the difference and started seeking my help. I began coaching them on posture, nutrition, and movement, and they loved my wellness program because it focused on making small but impactful changes in their daily routine.
Seeing the mindset transformations of my clients that occurred because of achieving physical wellbeing was the real inspiration behind starting my business. My clients became more confident and effective leaders in their personal and professional lives. I knew then that was my calling. I wanted to inspire others to be the best versions of themselves and help them get there. This is how Tone and Strengthen Wellness was born!
What should our readers know about your business?
Years of experience in the wellness industry and continuous learning have given me a competitive edge. With several years of hands-on experience, I have developed a deep understanding of human physiology and coaching, allowing me to provide quality services to my clients. As a past corporate professional, I can relate to my clients’ limitations and provide them with solutions that fit their life. Curiosity has been a big driving force behind my success as well. I have always been eager to learn about new techniques, products, and technologies that can enhance busy professionals’ health. Providing innovative wellness programs backed by science sets my business apart.
How did you manage to get where you are today? What are some lessons you learned along the way?
To answer how I managed to get where I am today, it’s simple – I didn’t quit. Running a business isn’t always smooth sailing. The journey is far from easy, and I have faced several challenges along the way. However, I knew that patience and persistence were the way to overcome these obstacles. I continuously learned, served my clients, created different programs to amplify the impact, and made improvements in my business offerings. My ability to get up after failing is what has brought me to this point.
Two of the most valuable lessons I have learned as a business owner are the importance of not being afraid of failure and diversifying income streams. Failure is an inevitable part of any journey, and it is essential to embrace it rather than fear it. Failure provides an opportunity to learn and grow, and it is an essential ingredient in the recipe for success. Secondly, relying on a single mode of income can be risky as a business owner, as any changes in the market or industry can significantly impact the business’s revenue. By diversifying my services, I have been able to mitigate this risk and create a more stable business model.
What is one message that you like to share with our readers?
One thing I’d like the world to know about my business is that getting the support you need for your wellbeing is easier than you think. My message to all the busy professionals is that it’s worth making time for your wellness. Because, when we take care of our body, we see improvement in every facet of our life; work, family, and our mindset. The power to live an empowered and pain free life lies within each of us.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
La Jolla is one of my favorite places to visit in Southern California. I’d take my friends to La Jolla Caves and walk around for a relaxing day.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Many people have mentored and pushed me along my entrepreneurial journey. Especially women in my family, my grandmother, mom, and sister. They have provided me with the support that I needed when the going got tough.
You might have heard the saying, “books are best mentors”. I love reading and always turn to books when I can’t find answers anywhere else. Books have allowed me to learn from the mistakes, successes and experiences of other successful entrepreneurs and apply it to my own business venture. Two of my most favorite business success books are “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill and “The Compound Effect” by Darren Hardy
