We had the good fortune of connecting with Adriana Vargas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adriana, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor about the success of my career and my brand is my true passion for helping others through Pilates, either clients that need help with their physical fitness or students that want to jump start a career on the Pilates Field. I love guiding and teaching them the way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The most common feedback I get from clients in general after their first session is how great I guide their body into moving and using muscles they didn’t know they have. Also how incredibly challenging my sessions always are even when they have been doing it for a long time. I think this is base on me always following their progress and finding the time to create a flow that would always surprise them, challenge them and also makes them feel accomplished. I focus on delivering results based on my clients Goals not mine.its all about them. It’s interesting to heard that my cueing is what makes the biggest difference in their practice even when that was my biggest challenged when I first joined the pilates field over 20 years ago, having to cue in a different language than Spanish was so hard for me back then. Also thinking of all the students that completed their initial training with me 20 years ago and seeing that none of them continue to teach and how I persevered even though I struggled learning in a second language now I get to lead my own Pilates Teacher training and have my own studio. It’s been a great road over the last 20 years, full of challenges, accomplishments and always working to build a great reputation in the industry by delivering results and delivering amazing pilates instructors out of my school. I have a true passion for helping students build a Successful career teaching what they love, PILATES.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would say coffee first, There is so many wonderful places it’s hard to pick, but I would highly recommend Dark horse, better buzzed, communal coffee and parakeet. Walks by the beach of course, La Jolla, PB, OB. Hikes starting early with our famous Potato chip rock or a short and sweet visit to Kwaay paay trail in Mission trails.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
For me is more than one thing I can think of when it comes to the reason of my success. First of I would like to shoutout to my sister Lulu, she was the first one who exposed me to fitness in general at a very young age. My kids for being an amazing inspiration to persevere and for always cheering for me and remind me of how much they believe in me. My clients and students for continued to support my business and for sharing how much they love my training with their friends and family. Thanks to all of them for the love and support!
