We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrian Gomez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adrian, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
The most difficult decision I had during my own journey was the decision to become the best version of myself and not allow outside obstacles to prevent myself from becoming the person I knew I could be. I changed my perspective on a lot of topics throughout life where I would see things from a lens of gratitude. Even during the challenging seasons or when the world seemed against my plans, I chose to look at life from a positive angle and work through the problems to see not just a solution but a strategic plan to move forward, evolve, and win.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I joined the United States Marine Corps when I was 17 years old where I soon after was selected to be apart of the Department of State working within US Embassies around the world. During this time, I was graciously exposed to some of the best mentors I could have been offered. Since a very young age, I had a unique opportunity to travel the world and serve others in some of the most intense and high stress environments. A philosophy I followed when my dreams seemed too big was a quote from Vincent Van Gogh that states “Great Things Are Done by a Series of Small Events Brought Together”. This was a beautiful awakening for me when I soon realized none of us start off as extraordinary but rather choose to do small actions, consistently and with a correct heart to create miraculous opportunities.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Excellent Question. There is definitely beauty found within the simplicities of life. This is because so often it is the simple things within our life, so often, the human experience tends to overlook. If there was an opportunity to show my best friend a good time with the intentions of getting to know them, what better than doing the simple day to day endeavors? You see, in my head, I choose to not ask the basic level questions such as “what is your favorite color?” but rather I am curious about which core memory is associated with that color to create a positive emotion. This is the best way to create community, because everyone has a story to tell, although each different from the other, in the simplicity’s, we notice it is because those subtle differences that actually bring us more together that we may never have previously realized if we didn’t take a moment to stop and recognize those little beauties hidden within life.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank first and foremost my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for on the nights I stood alone and crying in despair feeling as if I was misunderstood by the world and on my own in my journey, too weak to continue, He came and saved me. He showed me we are all flawed imperfect individuals but it is through that same imperfection that we find grace, forgiveness, love, and community.
