Meet Adrian Cisneros | Event Producer | Music Producer | Multimedia Designer | Marketing Strategist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrian Cisneros and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adrian, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I have realized that whenever I become comfortable with money making scenarios or even marketing strategies I start to get anxiety and I get scared, because when I get the sense of comfort, I know I am going down a stagnate path and I need to think bigger. Feeling comfortable is as much as a gamble as taking risks.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started off wanting to learn music, which introduced me to other musicians. Those musicians needed a producer which pushed me into sound engineering because your production sounds horrible if it isn’t mixed right. I then dove in to booking shows because you don’t have an audience for your production if you don’t present it to the public. I then dove into marketing myself and artists around me to get bigger shows, I then realized that you will not play a big stage unless you build it, which pushed me into producing events. Since I was in a band I applied a lot of these things to the band. I then realized that as a representative of all of these projects- I had to market myself, which entailed graphic designing and cinematography. As I am turning 40, I realized that I have been producing/engineering/marketing for 27 years of that and touring internationally. I think what sets me apart from others is that I am likeable. I feel like I am able to pull the best out of any artist or business partner I work with. Some of the work I am most proud of is my musical accomplishments- working with artists such as The Original Wailers, P.O.D, Frankie J & Baby Bash, Big Mountain, Johnny Osbourne, The Viceroys, Matumbi, Brinsley ASWAD Forde, and many more. Musically directing these acts and producing some of their music in the studio has made me proud.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Great question! I’d take my friends across the border to Tijuana since I live in San Diego and we are a border town. I’d take them to eat mariscos or tacos, and after we stuff ourselves with Mexican food I would take them to a Xolos soccer game. We would then make our way back to San Diego for a nightcap at El After Social Club. For the rest of the week we would be visiting La Jolla to swim and surf while in the evenings visit the many music venues around town and enjoy some local music. Grab a coffee at Tender Hooligan down on Third Avenue in Chula Vista, grab some gear at the Lower Left Tribal Warehouse in Downtown San Diego. Since most of my friends are musicians I would make sure to get in some studio time and put a track together at my home studio. Since Los Angeles is our friendly neighbor, we would also check out Hollywood and visit my friends Robert Delgadillo and Louis Villa at Los Angeles Recording and Film School, they are always a good time! Sounds like a busy week!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are two things that have inspired me to keep going. My friends who have faith in me and the ones who keep me inspired- Andy Vargas, Chris Morris, Luis Castillo, Danny Jimenez, Paulina Tapia, Eren Gonzalez, Robert Delgadillo, Louis Villa, Greg Laguna, David Ornelas, and Greg Wurth. Second, my family, fatherhood makes me want to push things to the next level and work harder. I enjoy the challenge of being a good role model!
