We had the good fortune of connecting with Abtin Naderi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abtin, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I moved to the United States when I was 20 and I wanted to pursue a career in basketball but I soon realized I wasn’t going to make it. I then became a personal trainer and dedicated to controlling a healthy lifestyle for myself. My parents would send me meals every Sunday for the week so I wouldn’t have to stress about shopping, cooking, and cleaning up after my meals. I wanted to find a local meal prep company but couldn’t find one that had the knowledge or experience with more than just frozen meals (i.e. working out, nutrition). I started this company to spread awareness of having fresh and organic meal preps for everyone to enjoy and be updated with a proper workout plan, a rotating menu, and nutritional tips to make life easy, convenient, and healthy for everyone.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We have been in business for about 7 years now so I’ve loved how far we’ve came and how much we’ve grown since the first day until now. We are now delivering to clients throughout SoCal and not just San Diego where we started. I wanted to make something different from all of the other meal prep companies by offering more than just healthy meals so I am always researching local businesses and new ways of incorporating different ideas into our name if I feel like it’s what we can stand by. Our logo is “Good to Great” and that’s what we’re constantly doing here weekly. The biggest success of the last few years, besides expanding and improving our brand every week, is maintaining an upbeat teamwork environment so we can accomplish our tasks with ease.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to Balboa Park since there is so much to see there that you wouldn’t find anywhere else. We could even walk down Mission Beach before we get to Belmont Park and enjoy the games and rides they have there. Maybe get a hot dog on a stick there, too. If there is someone or a band that we mutually enjoy performing at the House of Blues I’d recommend going there to wrap up a great day.
