We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaliyah Kimble and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaliyah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was to help people who enjoy Louis Vuitton like me. I had a bad experience buying Louis Vuitton pre-owned many years ago and had no one to turn to for help. Knowing that I accidently bought a fake bag for a large sum of money made me sick to my stomach. Now, I aim to be the person I needed then. I see myself as knowledgeable, honest and reliable. Had I known someone like that, I could’ve avoided that purchase.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from others in my line of work is that I’m approachable. I’m an equal with my clients. I have more knowledge about Louis Vuitton than others, but it doesn’t make me better than anyone else. People want to know who they’re interacting with and supporting, so I don’t hide behind a logo. To get where I am with my business today was not easy. I made many sacrifices and continue to study Louis Vuitton. The passion I have for making sure people buy and sell real Louis Vuitton has kept me going strong. I want people to know that luxury is for everyone. We may have different definitions of luxury, but we all deserve it.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had to take my best friend around town, my first stop would be Cabrillo Monument. It’s a national park at the tip of Point Loma. It has the best views in all of San Diego. Next, we’d have to go down Convoy Street to enjoy Korean BBQ, sushi and pastries! I love catching the sunset so that would be an every day thing if the weather is good.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents, my fiancé Joe, Elizabeth, a colleague of mine and my professors in college have given me the support I needed to be a Louis Vuitton Authenticator.
