We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine & Rebecca Singh & Newell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasmine & Rebecca, can you tell us the story of how you started your business?
It started with simple small dinners in my tiny apartment in Leucadia, Ca. We would have the dinners to experiment with new recipes and to get feedback from friends. We would sit around the table with our friends eating and sharing in joyful moments. That’s when we knew we had something special that we wanted to share with more people. The cheeze sauces became the star of the show, friends started requesting sauce to take home and that’s when our business was born. Word got out that we had the liquid gold cheeze sauce, friends started sharing with other friends and deals started to go down in a back alley in Leucadia. We gained attention from local stores that were excited to carry our products. We built up momentum once we joined social media and local farmers markets. We went from back alley deals to major local grocery stores. You can find our products at Jimbo’s Naturally, Frazier Farms, Just Peachy Market, Seaside Cardiff Market, Mission Square Market, Carlsbad Ranch Market, Healthy Creations & Artisan Palate. We have received so much support and love from our community which has helped us grow Nomad Eats.
What should our readers know about your business?
Our Cheeze sauces are mindfully created in San Diego, California in small batches. We are dedicated to creating the freshest whole food plant based products. Our nacho cheeze and mac n cheeze sauces are a great addition to every meal. Some of our favorite ways to eat the sauce are on nachos, burgers, steamed veggies, pasta or just straight out of the jar. Trust us once you get your hands on this Cheeze sauce you will be addicted! We do more than just make cheeze sauce though. We have also branched out as a mobile food vendor. We love preparing food with our sauces. We want to share the full experience of Nomad Eats. We want to share the joy of eating whole food plant based. Nomad Eats is about that little happy dance you do when you eat something delicious. Sometimes you eat food that is so good it makes you want to move your body and smile.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely spend a lot of time at Beacons beach enjoying the sun and waves. For drinks we would head down to Raised By Wolves to enjoy their unique libations and cozy speakeasy vibes. For dinner we would definitely take them over to Convoy Street and treat them to the BEST RAMEN and sushi at The Yasai: Vegan Japanese Experience. Most nights we would be cooking home made meals for them, playing games & talking story by the fire. We would spend a day at one of the local farmers markets exploring new foods. We would take them down to Mexico for a couple days for tacos, dancing and margaritas.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would like to thank our family, friends and community for supporting us since day one.
