In Soapmkaing, due to the chemical reaction that needs to take place between the oils and Sodium Hydroxide, lye, it takes 30 days for the soap to be considered safe enough to use. The lye is only used to create the chemical reaction, and disipates out of the soap when it is ‘curing’ for those 30 days.
