We had the good fortune of connecting with Adi Ramon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adi, what makes you most proud of the business you’ve built?
I like this question! It connects me right to our mission statement which is ‘To help the world resonate at a higher vibration by providing health elevating and delicious beverages’. We are passionate about health & wellness and every flavor/formulation that we develop (all in house) has to hit both criteria. What makes us proud is knowing that we offer people a natural lifestyle medicine in the most delicious and refreshing way! and what gives us goos-bumps, is the various testimonials we receive from people that not only loving the taste of M but also feel the effect and benefits from drinking our functional kombucha.
What should our readers know about your business?
At M Kombucha we are all about elevating people’s health and experiences. We are excited and proud to put forth not just better for you beverages but truly good for you! M Kombucha grew very organically; It all started in Eric & Adi’s home kitchen with no intention of starting a business; it was a hobby, a venture to perfect kombucha fermentation and make it the best we can for ourselves, our family and friends. Things took a turn when we shared a bottle with our yoga instructor Noel Brady; he was so impressed and thought we should open a kombucha cafe… well, we haven’t done that yet but we teamed up to start scaling up our home brew operation so we can share our premium craft kombucha with the greater local community. About 6 month in, Noel found an opportunity to lease our own commercial kitchen in Carlsbad; we raised our seed money from family and friends and moved out of our home kitchen in December 2015 and started selling commercially in March 2016 under our original name Kombucha Culture. The road of a startup is filled of challenges and that is something you need to be prepared for. What has been keeping us motivated is the feedback we’ve receiving back from people that discover M. From simply enjoying the quality and flavors our kombucha to experiencing the health benefits that each one of our bottles offer.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I would definitely take them on a beach tour from La Jolla to Leucadia, including a walk on the bluff in Del Mar and through the trails of Torrey Pines Natural Reserve. Assuming we’re in post pandemic mode, I’d take them to: House of Blues or Belly Up for some live music. Fire House in PB for dancing. Cafe Gratitude for casual delicious and wholesome vegan food and Animae for a special dinner out. Craft & commerce / Polite Provisions for creative cocktails. Various Farmers Markets to get crafts, fresh produce and soak in the local vibes. A good hot yoga class (there are so many great studios all over the county).
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Well, my business partner Noel Brady is the first person I’d like recognize and give credit to! I’m grateful for his dedication, focus, commitment, skillful hands and thoughtfulness! Next I’d like to give credit to the entire M team that is so passionate about we do; everyone keep showing up in their best expression.
