Meet Diane Rojas Olivas | Master Canine Trainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Diane Rojas Olivas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diane, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I was originally in the medical field for a while (7,8 yrs, possibly more ) I decided i needed to earn extra income as my medical full time job was not going to be enough to support me and my 3 children. I started downloading doggy sitter apps and dog walking , within the first 2 years I started investing more and more time into my clients and their pets, even if that meant passing on my 1 hr lunchtime to do drop ins or walks my clients needs were always and still are my number #1 priority. Time spent with the dogs and cats i was taking care of never seemed to be considered work to me i started looking forward to seeing my clients dogs and cats faces and how excited they were to hear or see me. I decided to make a difference in my career path due to many of my clients dogs not being social or pulling so much that it would almost break my finger. I started taking classes online for “Master canine Trainer “ while still working my full time medical job and doing my drop ins , boarding and walks . Everything was going well.
Sadly in early 2022 i was diagnosed with tuberculosis and shortly afterward everything went downhill for me i don’t want to go into details but at specific points of my treatment plan i couldn’t move from the inflammation in my bones , i couldn’t eat i couldn’t breathe it was just horrible. My husband was still taking on the boarding clients and helped so much with our kids and making sure my family was not aware that i was not doing well per my request. During that time in bed I graduated from the master canine program and continued treatments. I decided once i was able to be mobile i would take on the training cases no one else would want.
My love for starwars is undeniably obsessive and i knew i had to be original, that’s where i came up with “Pawtroopers Boarding & Training “ then everything changed . My whole life changed once that business name was created.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Dog training is an art definitely not an easy one , there’s a handful of trainers out there at actually care and love what they do . changing peoples lifes and creating strong bonds between dogs and their parents are hard challenges at times since every case is different.
My experience came from being raised around animals my whole life , my family always had animals around us so knew nothing else than to have them around and having them around our children so our children can have their children around pets as well.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Anything that involves sushi im there, i know great sushi joints one of my favorites is joes sushi .
The most fun place I’d go to relax is of course Disneyland, my favorite part of the trip is to eat of course , aside from seeing the troopers and starwars land.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband i and my kids are my #1 supporters i couldn’t have gotten through life and my dream wouldn’t be what it has become if it wasn’t for them. Words can’t come close to explain the appreciation and the hard work they endured while i wasn’t able to do anything. The support of my current clients were all that i needed their dogs were and are everything my trooper families i love them all so much they mean the world to us and they know that.
