We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheridan Dyches and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sheridan, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Growing up as a perfectionist, I was (and am) always on the hunt of feeling proud of the work I’m doing. I have distant memories of me grabbing my mom’s digital camera and taking photos of everything I found interesting. Fast forward to high school when I was taking my art credit class and was recognized by peers and teachers for my portrait work. For me portraits and lifestyle photography bring two of my biggest passions together: art and fashion. It felt like I finally proud of the work I was putting out and that fire has never died.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have shot with so many different kinds of people since I have shot so many different kinds of photography. I’ve shot headshots, weddings, family portraits, product shots, events, fashion, etc. so I have learned to work with all kinds of experience levels. I work super hard to make sure the model or client is always comfortable and loves the outcome of the photoshoots. I love hearing back from models and clients how they had so much fun shooting with me and how great at communicating I am throughout the entire process. It always puts a huge smile on my face knowing how fulfilling my job is.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Growing up in Orange County, I’m near the beach whenever possible. I specifically love a beach day in Laguna Beach, which is where a lot of my swim photography is shot. I usually stop to get something fresh to eat before the beach like The Stand Natural Foods or Banzai Bowls. There are so many beautiful beaches to go to in Laguna, so you can’t choose wrong. I personally love to swim and snorkel at Treasure Island beach. Depending on how long you can last in the sun, there are many more cute shops and restaurants along PCH. Oh! Also Top of the World in Laguna is a wonderful view of the ocean.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m thankful to say many friends and peers from high school, college, and social media have followed and supported my journey. But my main shoutout goes to one of my best friends Willow. Being less than a couple weeks apart in age, our photography and personal growth since high school has been a huge part of my story. We would spend hours on our laptops next to each other going back and forth with tips on Photoshop and Lightroom for editing.
