We had the good fortune of connecting with Franky Rosales and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Franky, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The Lil Brown Boys started when we Franky J Rosales & Pancho Chavez decided to put our humor and perspective on topics into a format. That format was podcasting. Being fanatics of comedy, we gave it a shot. We quickly saw positive reactions and decided to commit to consistently working on elevating our podcast. We invested in equipment, creative space and worked up to inviting local city officials, artist, musicians, chefs, comedians and all sorts of local talents as guest onto our platform. We saw the potential in our community and decided to highlight it with a comedic approach.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
From what fans and audiences tell us, people enjoy us because we are relatable. We try to grow and bring our audiences with us. The Lil Brown Boys is by the people for the people. Creatively we direct it but we are constantly working with local talents and businesses to highlight them in a fun and entertaining way. Community and comedy is everything for The Lil Brown Boys.

WE ARE SUPER DUPER PROUD! It was a dream, and then an idea that we put into work and is coming true now. The podcast is still evolving and constantly growing. We’ve been through a lot putting the pieces together. We had to learn a new trade that we had no clue about but we took the risk and taught ourselves. It’s been tough but just working hard consistently, constantly pushing forward and growing creatively has opened doors for us. We started with two usb microphones in a small room in an apartment just talking to each other with no clue of direction, now we are sponsored working comedians so HELL YEA WE ARE PROUD!

“Nothing worth having comes easy….” CHILLLLLL… LOL of course its tough, but we are proud kids of immigrant parents who know nothing but tough. We set our minds to it and theres nothing to it but to do it baby…

Challenges and obstacles are meant to be overcome. We are a team effort at The Lil Brown Boys podcast, Franky J Rosales, Pancho Chavez, producers Kris Quintanilla & Viet Nguyen, videographers like Bettencourt Productions to free lance artist and everyone that helps towards the goal at hand. Together we solve problems, give feedbacks and alter ideas til we get it right and everyone is on board.

If theres one thing we can say as a team is to brush off those negative comments and keep it pushing. EVERYTHING isnt for everyody… como va la rola “a mi los chismes me llegan flojos…”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A good time with TLBB IS ALWAYS FOOD! one perc about this podcasting with a range of guest from chefs, comedians and musical artist is being welcomed to some of the best spots in LA. Restaurants, live comedy shows, concerts & pop up events.

WE HAVE TO HIT THE HOOD TACO SPOTS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, & SMORGASBURG LA IS A MUST! We got homies who cook some of the most fire! The Goat Mafia, LoveHour, Carnitas el artista in inglewood, to east la best bbq A’sBQQ! We are always excited to pull up on the homies cause they take care of their customers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE FOOS.

Nightlife is easy. We can hit up some LA’s comedy scenes. Improv & the laugh factory to some underground mics, or go see some of our long beach musician homies perform. Theres tons of things to do in LA, its endless.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yea, hell yea! If we can shout something or someone out…. It’ll have to be the city of LYNWOOD! Shout out to everyone whose from there, been there or knows about it! Its a beautiful city full of some of the hardest working foos you’ve ever come across. Sure it has its rough areas like any other place in the world. It’s just dear to us. We grew up running around those streets and now to see that the community enjoys what we do, and we are creating a positive impact is dope. ARRIBA LYNWOOD!
