Meet Camilla Valley | Founder of Sisters of the Valley Mexico, MASTER Economic Sciences

We had the good fortune of connecting with Camilla Valley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Camilla, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Sister Camilla:
I´m a business major (34 years old), I have a BA in International Business, a masters in Economics and then I started PHD in Social Sciences (the PHD i had to dropped out last year to focus on the business). Because of my background I wanted to have a work – business, to be able to manage my time but also to create a project i could manage in a different way. I just didn’t wanted to spend my life working in a regular job.
So, before joining the sisterhood in the summer 2018, I started to make research about the business project i wanted to create, i knew i wanted to work with plants but didn’t know what or how.
After some time of thinking i decided to work with cannabis, since i love the plant and felt really connected with it, i have been a cannabis user for 15 years and my consumption has evolve over time so when I realized that and payed really attention of how the plant helped me I knew i was in the time to work with that plant.
Also, before joining the sisterhood, long story short, I was married with an abusive partner and at the same time I was doing my masters. These 2 events caused me a lot of stress and trauma specially the abusive relationship, so after stepping out of that relationship (1 year lasted), I finished my masters.
After those events I started to think that I didn’t wanted to waste my life chasing the illusion of relationships. I was very depressed and didn’t want to felt alone so that’s why i let that person entered my life.
I healed my self, with the cannabis plant, mushrooms, nature, the company of my friends and people who really love me and I learned not to felt alone…
All that gave me the energy to chose my path and that’s how everything started, after healing, i had this vision of create my own work. So after that i did all the numbers, business plan, etc. then I realized I had the plans but i didn’t have experience so I tried to find a mentor, doing that I found Sisters of the Valley in YouTube. After watching and listening sister Kate talk i knew she had to be the one. I wrote an email on January 2018, she answered me 3 months later with an invitation, ans that’s how everything started.

What should our readers know about your business?
SISTERS OF THE VALLEY, is a women created organization designed to support other women’s and help them to explore and use their talents in a intuitive and intentional way. We are proud to be women who create jobs for others, not just women, from a plant that has been criminalized and banned for more than 100 years. Working with the plant in a spiritual and intuitive way differ our CBD products from commercial products. All our products are hand made and packed in the same place, the farm which is a place blessed and preserved. The working environment is peaceful we tried to keep the place neat and the good energies around. We clean the space from dust but also from bad energies.
We have been put in the spot light because we are women who get together to create remedies from a controversial plant so there’s a lot of people who approaches us some with good intentions and others with no to good, but we tried to work together as a team, have a clear communication and follow some rules to keep everything running as it is.
We have learned from years of experience how to deal with people, some of them got the wrong impression. We have to make clear we are hard working woman’s who try to work our personal life we try to keep it off the spotlight in order to focus in the mission we have: heal the world with the cannabis plant and change peoples perception on how to run business.
We want the world know that we are women who care for the world situation, we are not a typical business who just want to shrink prices and have mass productions and conquer the world, we are much better that than. We really want to make a change of perception with our example.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The farm is located in Merced California, so we have really good hikes. We are around 1 hour from Yosemite, and we are 2 hours away form the Sequoia Trees too. It is relative close to San Francisco so that’s another place to visit.
We are also located in San Diego. If we were in SD we would go to the beach, Balboa Park, to est at Little Italy. We also like to visit Barrio Logan, it is a perfect place to shop. Our favorite store is the Church of Herbal-ism. Its a shop where classes are teach and there’s other interesting events all the time. You always get tea in there!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
