Meet Steven Castañon | Creator & Owner of ELFOKO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Steven Castañon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Steven, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started by business in 2019-2020 during the beginning of the pandemic while I had a lot of alone time. My thought process was how can you use this idea and make it better than what it already is.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always played hide and seek with my creative side. I was one of those 13 year old html myself layout creators. That’s what I think started it all. I would also make flyers for my church’s youth group services. I wouldn’t say it was easy but I also wouldn’t say it lol as hard. I’m still learning about consistency and still learning that creativity really helps me move forward in my personal life. I want my brand to mean more than what it currently does. I made it what it is for a reason. I used a light bulb to inspire. I have a lot I want to incorporate with this business venture and I hope people understand.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m originally from Georgia but having lived here in California for 5+ years now I feel like I can definitely answer this.
As soon as I pick them up from LAX we would drive the sunny streets of Hollywood enjoying the sun, mountain sights, and of course the palm trees.
I just like then stop by IN N OUT and have us split a burger before heading to Grand Central Market to finish the rest of our courses meals all while enjoying the busy city.
Then we’d drive down to Venice beach in time to catch the crowds of people skating, roller skating; enjoying the sun and breeze.
Beating the sunset,
On our way back home I’d stop the Griffith observatory to catch the sunset and see the beautiful skyline at night.
And that would be the end of the day for us.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! The biggest shout out goes to my parents who always planted that seed of being a business owner. Both my mom and dad had their own business that I had the privilege of growing up around. Also, fast forward to 2019… small business TIKTOK teased the idea of the business that I now run. I knew I could do what people were doing for fun and I knew I could do it in a way, a little better.
