We had the good fortune of connecting with Leslie Machuca and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leslie, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I started blogging in 2019. The idea emerged out of a hobby I already loved; capturing and sharing special moments. Encouraged by my late mother to visit the world, as well as the motivation of friends, I started @my_adorkable_adventures. Through my blog, you are able to obtain ideas about places to visit and things to do in the Southern California region. From pop-ups, to museums, from restaurants to nature spots — I post it all! Little by little, I have been able to partner and collaborate with different brands. My hope is to continue growing a community that loves to adventure and explore!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am currently an Account Manager working for a small business. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts from Mount St. Mary’s University in Liberal Studies, and my Master of Arts degree from Chapman University in International Studies. I love to blog on the side about places to visit and things to do in the greater SoCal area!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many cool things to do in SoCal. Some of my favorite spots: The Griffith Observatory, Kenneth Hahn Park, Melrose Arts District, DTLA (Arts district, Little Tokyo, Chinatown, Placita Olvera), Santa Monica Pier, Retro Row in Long Beach, Venice and Abbot Kinney.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to my family and friends ~ they have supported me by either going with me to locations to shoot content or offer ideas.
