We had the good fortune of connecting with Maddie Chapman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maddie, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Brands can be extremely misleading. Labeling them as reef friendly or reef safe, however the ingredients that they use are often times are not actually that way. To the daily user, you might not be aware of these sneaky ingredients that are unsafe for the environment and also unsafe for you.

What should our readers know about your business?
LIVE SUNNY is unique because, it’s a zinc sun protection that checks all the boxes. •It’s truly reef safe

• Superfood infused to heal skin while protecting it.
• Non-plastic packaging
•Organic sustainably sourced ingredients

This was not easy to create. After six years of formulating, we finally nailed it.
We are so happy with it that we truly just want to share it with the world, so everyone can have the gold in their hands.

In creating Live Sunny I hope to make a very small difference. Using clean products for for the health of people and the world. Everything we do affects the world we live in. Maybe this can be the start of a more conscious future and make those greener choices easier to do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The beautiful thing is San Diego has so much to offer! I would definitely take them for a sailing adventure, a stroll at Swami‘s Gardens, surf at San Onofre State Beach, and yummy Thai food at Plumeria in Encinitas.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Big shout out to the Encinitas lifeguard‘s, they have been a huge help! Their rigorous testing of our products has been huge. We’re proud to say that it’s Lifegaurd approved and high-performance. Thanks for your services and keeping our beach safe.
