Meet Farah George: Professional Makeup Artist & Psychologist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Farah George and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Farah, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Looking back at my days as a little girl, I always snuck into my mom’s makeup bags and drawers of makeup until I got caught putting it on. However, that fearful experience didn’t diminish or decrease my love for makeup artistry. At age 12 I already knew how to measure, cut and apply false lashes and my friends looked at me with pure amazement! Then at age 18 I was recruited to work for MAC then Sephora but during those years I always owned my own makeup business where I freelance and take on all types of clientele and events! I’ve had the most loyal customers and I’ll be expanding on YouTube. Stay tuned, remember the name. Most importantly, you can go to college earn and degree and be successful in an artistic career also. Do not give up!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a very determined person and if it’s something I’m passionate about I’ll go after it and no one or anything will stop me. I had saved up allowance money and as soon as I turned 18 I signed myself up for beauty college without my parent’s support or anyone’s. Then I had the pleasure of joining MAC and on the early 2000’s it was the coolest job to have. I am multi certified within the company. I eventually moved on to work for Sephora and had to get certified to work at the beauty studio. What sets me apart is my determination and artistry. I can do all types of makeup looks anything from glam, Arabic makeup, bridal, natural, editorial, special effects, and so on. A fun quick story to tell you that I turned myself into Rapper “Lil Wayne” with the use of makeup. I’m usually booked a year in advance but I will be on YouTube next so find me soon.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Downtown San Diego is where San Diego’s magic happens and let’s not forget the beaches. I’d take my friend to little Italy and visit all the restaurants, they’re all different and aesthetically pleasuring and the food is so delicious you’ll come back solely for that reason. The desserts are something you’ve never seen before like at IDessert. We can also catch a flick at the infamous Sugar Factory amongst other delicious items on the menu. Lastly, we’ll need more than a week to capture the beauty of San Diego’s city, weather, and beauty.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout the beauty college I attended and working for MAC and they have multiple certifications within the company that are difficult but fun if you’re determined. I’d also like to shoutout Sephora which I had to be certified by a senior artist in order to apply makeup on others at the beauty studio. A final shoutout to all of the faces I’ve worked on, you guys are the real MVPs for entrusting me with your faces so that I can practice, get my skills better and now we’re here happy and successful.
