We had the good fortune of connecting with Gianina Jimenez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gianina, what principle do you value most?
The Value of Quality Time for my clients matters the most to me. I want each client to walk away from their photo session experience with a smile on their face and with their heart full of happiness! My goal is to create a safe, relaxed and fun experience so that my clients don’t feel stressed or akward while I’m taking their photos! My main goal is to capture the raw natural love and happiness with the human connection. Weather it be a newlyweds, Mama with her kids or any family dynamic! Why does this matter most me me?! Because I receive joy in return of my clients happiness of the Final product! When my clients cry of happiness, it fulfills my purpose! To be their Lifetime Photographer / extended family!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It’s all in the business name for me: Life & Love. My art is to capture true connections. My desire as a photographer is to capture those happy, often understated moments in life that make our hearts beat. A camera can do more than take a photo, it can document a feeling and make it tangible. I’m not a point and click type of photographer. I take the time to get to know you and earn your trust. Photo sessions are supposed to be fun! My relaxed and happy way of living was not easy to bring through into my photography until recently. My personality is naturally more reserved but I’ve been able to come out of my shell with my photography sessions. It took a lot of practice, patience and continuing education to really master my craft! There are always growing pains and setbacks when mastering a craft but with every setback is a setup for a comeback! I’m gearing up for new things in 2021 by offering more types of photo sessions such as; Mama + Me and Pop-up Mini Sessions. I’m so proud and excited to be able to offer these as I feel confident and ready to storytell with my photo sessions. It’s all about capturing true love and joy! Life & Love!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in the heart of America’s Finest City offers a wide range of sites, activities and places to eat/drink! I would schedule out a couple of days of outdoor activities such as paddle boarding at Mission Bay, Hiking Torrey Pines and Bike Riding on the Coronado Beach boardwalk. For dining, I would take you into Little Italy for homemade Italian (Civico 1845) and fresh seafood (Ironside). For craft cocktails I’d recommend a speakeasy in Little Italy called False Idol. I’d also take a day to travel up north to our “wine country” Temecula for a day of wine tasting and dinner! While a lot of days are packed with activities I’d say a day at the beach would wrap up the visit nicely! I’d recommend going up the coast to Ponto Beach in Encinitas or Solana Beach!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This year has been a year of change for my photography business. I re-branded completely and also invested in education to further my overall skills as a photographer and photo editor. I owe a huge shoutout to my Graphic Designer Kat Cosma who created a brand new logo, website and marketing materials to reflect my personality, passion and desire to capture those happy often understated moments in life! My second Shoutout goes out to Stormy Solis. She is a well known Photographer who also offers “All Heart Education” courses which include instructional videos “how to’s”, behind the scenes, Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop Presets and Actions, and private facebook groups for ongoing network opportunities with others from the photography community. Both these women have elevated my business and I am forever grateful for them!
