We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Servin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of Servin Sweets Bakery is the genuine connection I build with my customers. From the very beginning, I’ve believed that cake is never just cake. It’s a birthday wish, a wedding promise, a baby shower celebration, or a moment someone will remember forever. Every order represents a story, and I feel honored to be a small part of life’s biggest and most meaningful occasions.

I strive to be real, approachable, and personable with every customer reaches out to me. I take the time to listen, to understand their vision, and to turn their ideas into something magical. For me, it’s not just about how a cake looks or tastes—it’s about how it makes someone feel when they see it, share it, and celebrate with it.

Putting my customers first has always been at the heart of Servin Sweets. I treat every order with care, love, and intention, knowing that these desserts will be present in moments that matter. That personal touch, combined with a true passion for creating joy, is what has allowed my brand to grow. Servin Sweets isn’t just a bakery—it’s about creating memories, celebrating milestones, and making every special moment a little sweeter.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is storytelling through cake. Every design, flavor, and detail I create is rooted in emotion, meaning, and connection. What sets Servin Sweets Bakery apart is that my work isn’t just about aesthetics or trends—it’s about capturing a moment in time and turning it into something people can taste, share, and remember. I approach each cake as if it’s part of someone’s story, because it is. Birthdays, weddings, milestones, and moments of joy all deserve to feel intentional and personal.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my customers place in me. They don’t just order a cake—they share their stories, their visions, and their most important celebrations. I’m proud that people feel seen, heard, and cared for through my work. I’m especially excited about how Servin Sweets continues to grow while still staying true to its heart: being genuine, warm, and deeply customer-focused.

Professionally, my journey began at home with a passion, a dream, and a willingness to take a leap of faith. What started as a small home bakery slowly evolved through hard work, consistency, and word of mouth. It was never easy. There were long nights, early mornings, self-doubt, financial risks, and moments where quitting felt like the easier option. I had to learn everything along the way—business, branding, boundaries, pricing, and trusting my own voice as an artist.
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is navigating personal loss while continuing to build my brand. Losing my husband, who was my biggest supporter and the inspiration behind the name Servin Sweets, changed everything. But it also strengthened my purpose. Continuing this business became a way to honor him, to keep dreaming big, and to keep showing up even when it was hard. I overcame challenges by leaning into resilience, allowing myself grace, and remembering why I started in the first place.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success doesn’t come from perfection—it comes from persistence, authenticity, and heart. Being real, staying humble, and always putting people first has opened more doors than any trend or technique ever could. I’ve also learned that it’s okay to grow, to evolve, and to take up space in your craft unapologetically.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that Servin Sweets Bakery is built on love, legacy, and meaningful connection. This isn’t just a bakery—it’s a reflection of my journey, my resilience, and my belief that art can live in everyday moments. Cake may be fleeting, but the memories it creates last forever, and it’s an honor to be part of those moments.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting SoCal for a week, I’d want to give them a true taste of the lifestyle — sun, great food, ocean views, and quality time. We’d definitely spend time at the beach, starting slow with coffee/matcha walks by the water and ending evenings with sunset views that never get old.

Midweek would be all about exploring Orange County’s food scene—brunch spots, casual lunches, and at least one nice dinner followed by drinks with a view, because that’s something OC does better than anywhere else. One night would be reserved for a girls’ night out—getting dressed up, sharing laughs, and enjoying the energy of going out with friends.

We’d also keep things relaxed with shopping, coffee stops, and unplanned hangouts, because some of the best memories come from just being present. For me, the most exciting part of SoCal isn’t just the places—it’s the balance of beauty, fun, and connection that makes every day feel special.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This shoutout is dedicated to my late husband, Danny, who passed away in September 2025. From the very beginning of my journey, he was my biggest supporter, my loudest cheerleader, and the one who believed in me even when I doubted myself. When Servin Sweets was just an idea—started from my home with a dream and a lot of uncertainty—he was there encouraging me every step of the way.

The name Servin Sweets itself comes from the last name I received when I married him, which makes this business deeply personal and forever connected to him. He constantly pushed me to dream bigger, to believe in my talent, and to “go big or go home.” He saw potential in me long before I fully saw it in myself.

His love, encouragement, and unwavering belief laid the foundation for everything Servin Sweets has become. Even though he is no longer here, his spirit, support, and vision live on through this business. Every cake, every celebration, and every milestone is, in many ways, a continuation of the dream he helped me believe was possible. This journey—and this success—will always be dedicated to him.
