We had the good fortune of connecting with Eduardo Vieira and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eduardo, how does your business help the community?
Not just my business, but Jiu-Jitsu in general helps parents and teachers in the education and development of children, as well as adults in handling everyday situations under pressure. It builds self-confidence, improves quality of life, and promotes a healthier body and mind.

In our business specifically, we also focus on something we believe is most important: our spirit. We have a project called Jesus & Jiu-Jitsu that takes place every Saturday, designed for men who want to grow closer to God while learning self-defense. The project is free and has been growing more and more.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
It wasn’t easy to get here, and the biggest lesson I’ve learned is to never give up, always stay optimistic, and above all, work with honesty. I’m always studying and dedicating myself to give the very best to my students, because I don’t just want to teach them Jiu-Jitsu, but also leave a legacy for their lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d start with brunch in Del Mar at Monarch, which my family and I love. Then we’d head to La Jolla to enjoy the natural beauty of the beach and cliffs, and of course, see the famous sea lions. In the late afternoon, we’d stop at one of the many great breweries here in North County for happy hour, and finish the day with the amazing sunset at the Oceanside Pier.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The founding members of the academy, who have been with us since the beginning, my wife, and my family.
