We had the good fortune of connecting with Jim Hassey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jim, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
After years of playing golf at the game’s highest levels… as well as studying and analyzing the physics and bio-mechanics of the golf-swing, I’ve figured out the secret to the golf-swing. People all over the world play golf and I can help them all.
Whether it’s people wanting to ‘start’ to play golf… or people that are already playing and wanting to play better… I know how to help them all.
I never get tired of, when I’m giving a golf-student a lesson, and seeing the amazement they experience when they learn how to swing the golf-club correctly and they hit a well-struck golf-shot.
Their faces light up and they love this (many times frustrating) game even more than they did before they took a lesson from me.
My thought process was that I look forward to being the person that changes the game of golf all over the world.
I’m currently getting the technology in place to share this information with people all over the world. It’s taking some time… but it should be up and accessible in the next few months.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Likely my visiting friend is a golfer. We would start with the golf-course that are a must to visit and work our way down from there. The first course I would take them to play is Torrey Pines golf course (former site of the U.S. Open). Torrey Pines also has a great restaurant and patio area with great views looking over the golf-course and ocean views.
The 2nd course I would take them to play is Carlton Oaks golf course (the course where they’ve held local qualifiers for the PGA Tour stop in San Diego and NCAA championships). The course architecture is great and has a great patio to enjoy great sunsets and looks out over the golf-course and will likely see the deer come out to feed on the grass on the fairways.
Other than that there are a couple great golf retail stores that golfers would love to visit and shop at. The first is GolfMart in Mission Valley, followed by Fairway Golf on on Convoy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Aside from giving a shoutout to my parents of course, who encouraged me and supported me with golf-lessons and the entry fees to play in hundreds of tournaments… I need to give 3 major shoutouts. 1) To Ben Hogan and his golf-instruction book “The 5 Fundamentals of Golf”. The book was written back in the 60’s and much of the instruction continues to be relevant.
2) To Mr. Ben Doyle and his golf-instruction book “The Golfing Machine”. Although it missed some important details, it was a well written book that did a good job of explaining the physics and bio-mechanics involved in the golf-swing.
3) To Mr. Dave Pelz and the golf putting-instruction book he wrote called “The Putting Bible”.
These would have to be the 3 biggest influences that helped me figure out the secret to the golf-swing.
