Meet Galilea Trujillo | Artist, Singer, songwriter, musician, content creator, music entrepreneur and music strategist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Galilea Trujillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Galilea, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Risk has always been a crucial factor in my story. The first—and perhaps the most important—was leaving my small town in Sonora, my family, and my university plans in fashion design to dedicate myself to building and consolidating a record label with my brother. I had no experience at all in that field, but I had the drive and the willingness to learn. I see my story as a domino effect: that first push was taking the risk, and from there everything started to fall into place.
That decision completely transformed my path, the way I think, my goals, and my aspirations.
I faced another big challenge when I sang the national anthems of both Mexico and the United States for the first time at the América vs. SDFC match at Snapdragon Stadium on June 7, 2025, in front of more than 30,000 people. I only had two weeks to prepare—one of them I was sick—and the other I dedicated fully to learning and rehearsing both anthems to perfection. English is not my first language, so performing the U.S. anthem was a true challenge. But I took the risk, and it turned out to be a success: both nationalities sang with me, and we shared a powerful moment of unity.
The most recent risk I took was traveling to a new place to make music with someone I had never met before. I even wrote in a different genre than I usually do, and from that experience my latest single Algo Sincero was born. What began with uncertainty became one of the most rewarding projects of my career. That experience taught me an important lesson: when you take risks, amazing things can happen.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is deeply personal, rooted in my culture, experiences, and passion for music. What sets me apart is my ability to blend authenticity with creativity
I write, compose, and perform songs that reflect real emotions and stories people can connect with.
I’m proud of the risks I’ve taken along the way: I entered the music industry as a young woman of 18, with no experience, in a space mostly led by men. I faced rejection, but instead of letting it define me, I turned it into fuel. That resilience opened doors I never thought possible and taught me that being underestimated can become your greatest advantage. I’ve also learned that in this industry, some doors open and others close unexpectedly, but that doesn’t define my path. What matters is the resilience to keep going, the talent I’ve cultivated, the experience I’ve gained, and the drive to continue creating no matter what.
It hasn’t been easy.
I’ve faced emotional, financial, and logistical challenges—but I’ve overcome them through perseverance, creativity, and by surrounding myself with people who inspire and push me to grow. The lessons have been invaluable: trust yourself, take risks, and never stop creating.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that I am a dedicated artist who takes bold steps to share her story through music, connecting with people authentically and fearlessly.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting San Diego, I’d take them to hang out in Downtown, grab drinks at Altitude Sky Lounge, stroll mornings at Seaport Village, explore Little Italy and its amazing food, visit Old Town and its museums, plus all the must-see spots like La Jolla, Coronado, Sunset Cliffs, and Balboa Park. It’d be a mix of food, culture, adventure, and local vibes—showing them the best of San Diego.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout to my manager, who is also my partner, for being my biggest support throughout this journey, helping me record my first music video in Spain and Italy, and always making sure I’m in the best opportunities, feeling safe and supported. I also want to thank my mom, who planted the seed of music, dance, and art in my life, always supporting me, paying for costumes, and encouraging every project, and my stepdad, who has never stopped pushing me forward, even from afar. Finally, I want to thank everyone who has joined my project, bringing positive energy, contributing to my career without expecting anything in return, opening doors, collaborating with me, and even those who are no longer here—they will always be part of my story. I’m deeply grateful to all of them for their guidance, love, and unwavering support.
