Meet Amber McCall | founder of Sea Witch Designz & creator of ritual self-care

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber McCall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amber, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite affirmation and personal mantra is “I am the universe’s favorite child, I always get everything I want.” It’s more than just being spoiled, it’s about acknowledging the good in your life and appreciating what you have. I firmly believe that the more gracious you are, the more opportunities and blessings come your way. I try to live each day with a grateful heart, fully expecting that I can do and achieve anything because the things I want, want me, and the universe is already conspiring to make my dreams my reality.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Sea Witch Designz is my love letter to self-care, ritual, and all things mystical. I create small-batch, witchy bath and body products that are vegan, cruelty-free, and made with intention—from spelled fragrance oils to crystal-infused bath bombs. What sets my brand apart is the heart behind it: every product is a spell in itself, designed to help people slow down, reconnect with themselves, and honor their inner magic.

Before starting Sea Witch Designz, I worked in the beauty industry for over a decade, with experience in artistry, education, and retail management. That background taught me so much about the power of scent, storytelling, and how transformative intentional care can be. When I launched my own brand, I wanted to combine that professional experience with my personal love of metaphysics, witchcraft, and ritual.

I’m incredibly proud of how far this business has come—from selling my first handmade bath bomb at a tiny pop-up, to being part of huge events like Is For Lovers Festival and watching my products become a part of people’s daily rituals. But none of it came easy. I didn’t have a roadmap or funding—I had experiments, all nighters, and a vision. I’ve had to learn everything on the fly: how to scale production, run a business, market myself, and build a community. There have been moments of doubt, burnout, and trial by fire, but every challenge taught me something vital—especially the importance of consistency, intuition, and staying true to your vision. That passion, consistency, and community matter more than perfection.

I want the world to know that Sea Witch Designz isn’t just a product line—it’s a safe space for the weird, the witchy, and the tender-hearted. It’s for anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider, but still wants to feel powerful. Every offering is crafted with care, intention, and magic. And I hope when someone uses one of my products, they feel a little more seen, a little more sacred, and a lot more supported.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit, we’d plan a week full of witchy vibes, good food, and spooky adventures. We’d start with antique shopping in the Orange Circle, then head to a few local spiritual shops. Mystic Soul Ritual in Oceanside is definitely a favorite—an absolutely stunning metaphysical store that now carries Sea Witch Designz (a dream come true!).

For nighttime fun, we’d visit The Cauldron in Buena Park for cocktails in a cozy, witchy setting, or hit up a few speakeasies. Dinner at Quixote, tucked inside the historic Hotel Lafayette, which has the perfect moody, magical atmosphere. If the timing’s right, we’d catch a movie at Cinespia, projected in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, because what’s better than watching a classic under the stars and surrounded by spirits?

And of course, I’d have to bring her to one of the local night markets. To show her how I’ve built my brand, and just what I’ve been up to nearly every weekend these past 3 years. A perfect blend of weird, wonderful, and just a little witchy—exactly how I like to show off Southern California.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I absolutely owe everything to my darling friends—not only were they my very first customers, but they also stepped up as product testers and my unofficial focus group in the early days of this journey. I’m endlessly grateful to the event coordinators who believed in me, the fellow vendors who generously shared their wisdom, and of course, to my beautiful customers for their unwavering support. Most of all, I have to thank my sweet fiancé George. Sea Witch Designz wouldn’t be where it is today without his constant encouragement, enthusiasm, heavy lifting, and endless cheers from the sidelines. Thank you for everything you do, dummy 🖤
