Meet Eduardo Castrillo | Award Winning Filmmaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Eduardo Castrillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eduardo, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I am a filmmaker who specializes in features. I try to shoot one a year and also teach filmmaking as well. One of my favorite past times as well is attending conventions and speaking on panels. All of my projects have been meaningful but I really want to talk about my latest film: Bears on a Ship! It’s about a group of stranded passengers and spring breakers who decide to take a ship voyage back home to the United States. Unbeknownst to them however, are two more passengers aboard that vessel. More specifically; Man-eating bears. We screen May 17th screening at Look Cinemas in Downey.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
If you search my name Eduardo Castrillo on Tubi, all my films will pop up. Same with Prime Video, Roku, and more. I’m super proud about that. My latest film Catfished is streaming now for free on Tubi. My other film Bears on a Ship is screening in theaters.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first thing I would do if someone was visiting LA is bring them to the Look Cinemas May 17th showing of Bears on a Ship in Downey. The cast and crew will be there for a live Q&A session afterward where they can ask any questions about the movie or filmmaking that they desire. They don’t even need to leave to eat because its a dine in theater.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My whole team deserves a shoutout. In film, nobody does it alone. So everyone from crew to cast to my family and friends and the fans, everyone comes together to makes these things happen. Also shoutout to filmhub and tubi for giving independent filmmakers a chance to be successful in life.
