We had the good fortune of connecting with Lea Higgs and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lea, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Taking risks, to me, is about understanding opportunity costs and recognizing that inaction is also a decision—one that can often lead to missed chances and regrets. Every choice involves a trade-off, and I believe it’s important to weigh what you’re potentially giving up by playing it safe. In my life and career, I’ve learned that the fear of failure can’t outweigh the possibilities that come with stepping into something new. Trusting yourself is key—you have to be your own biggest supporter and believe in your ability to figure things out along the way. Taking calculated risks with a clear plan and purpose can open doors you never imagined.

I also see risk through a spiritual lens. Trusting in God’s capabilities and having faith that I’m being guided in the right direction gives me the courage to leap when logic alone may hesitate. It may seem like a risk on the surface, but when paired with strategy, preparation, and a strong belief in your path, it becomes a catalyst for growth. Some of the most rewarding parts of my journey came from what seemed like risks to others, but felt like alignment to me. In my experience, risk is often the bridge between where you are and where you’re meant to be.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is my mindset and my commitment to growth—not just in business, but in who I am as a person. I’ve come to realize that business is just as much a mental and emotional journey as it is a strategic one. It challenges your character, your discipline, your emotional intelligence, and your faith. Who you are shows up in how your business performs. I’m most proud of the person I’ve had to become to get where I am today—someone who believes in herself, leads with purpose, and keeps going no matter what.

Getting to this point hasn’t been easy. I’ve had to overcome self-doubt, setbacks, and obstacles that forced me to either level up or give up. I chose to keep growing. I’ve learned that you have to continuously work on yourself—because the stronger and wiser you are, the stronger your business will be. You also have to truly understand people—how to connect, serve, and bring value to their lives. My story is about resilience, faith, and evolution. I want the world to know that my brand stands for more than a product or service—it’s about inspiring others to become the best version of themselves while chasing their dreams unapologetically.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I’d plan a fun two-day itinerary here in the Imperial Valley before heading out to San Diego for the full experience. We’d start with dinner at one of my favorite local spots—either Mona Lisa or Cambria—for great food and a chill vibe. The next day, we’d stop by the mall for a little shopping and outfit upgrades, then head out to my friend’s beautiful farm, Bel Cielo, to snap some dreamy Valley photos and soak in the scenic views. It’s the perfect mix of good energy and local charm. After that, we’d hit the road and make our way to San Diego.

Once we get to San Diego, we’d check into a nice hotel by the water to really soak in the coastal vibe. I’d take them straight to the beach for some sun and sand, and we’d spend the next day exploring all the best daytime activities—like visiting the coves and sea caves in La Jolla, walking through an art museum, and doing a little more shopping at the mall. We’d stroll around the Gaslamp District in the evening and end the day with dinner at a great restaurant—something with a view, good ambiance, and amazing food. It’d be the perfect balance of local roots and big city fun, and a trip they’d never forget.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give a huge shoutout to my mom—nothing would be possible without her unwavering belief in me. She’s been my rock, my biggest cheerleader, and the one who never gave up on me, even when I struggled to believe in myself. Every time life knocked me down, she was right there to help me get back up, reminding me of who I am and what I’m capable of. My family has shown up for me in ways I couldn’t even show up for myself at times, and that kind of love and support is something I’ll never take for granted. I carry their strength with me in everything I do.
