Meet Alejandro Ramirez

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Alejandro Ramirez again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Alejandro, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
Architect / Architectural Designer
Mexican architect graduated in 2008 from the Max Cetto Workshop of the UNAM Faculty of Architecture. In 2019 he established the oe architect studio, a small Emerging architecture office located in Mexico City. We are dedicated to the restoration, planning and development of executive projects, in addition our passion is the design of ephemeral spaces, being in this case, we have participated in calls both in Mexico and abroad.
He has been a jury at the Tec de Monterrey, a prestigious private school in Mexico, in architecture, for the election of the ephemeral installation. The organization with two important offices, one in Peru – EletresStudio, and another in China based in the USA – ELSE, now it is experimenting with contests and proposals around the world.
Finalist in the biennale 19 of Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the LAN4 installation, in the landscape area as an ephemeral installation.

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
In recent months we have explored different project formats, where in order to achieve more objectives, we have had talks with a Peruvian firm called EletresStudio and another Chinese firm based in the United States. We tested and sent a proposal for our work for a temporary intervention in Mexico City, at the Museo del Eco. However, after a few days of waiting, we were not selected. We took the experience and saw that our projects that have been carried out together, on the individual side, have been tested and have not left one alone to participate in projects at an international level. Now we have 2 pending, one in Canada and another in France. In addition, with EletresStudio, we have one pending in Boston, of which we will have news in February.
We have been looking for and advancing on issues of temporary projects. We are up to date with what happens and what arises at an international level.

We also want to give folks a chance to get to know you a bit better so we’ve prepared a fun lightning round of questions. Ready?

When you look back on your life, what are three things you expect to be proud of?
Age makes you see many things that when you were young you thought were right, however my parents, siblings, teachers and friends, have instilled in me values of respect and being better at what you do every day, without a doubt the projects that I have designed in Spain I feel very satisfied with them, also on a personal level I have taken the time to travel, every year I try to enjoy a trip and visit places that I have only seen in books, and lastly I think the fact of working on projects that are not the results or we are not selected, does not prevent us from being up to date and pending, working to improve these results are not seen daily, we want to little by little see the same ones, the gratitude of seeing a concept that came out of a pencil and went through a design and construction I think is the most important thing, that result.
