Meet Oscar Cellura | Music Producer and Writer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Oscar Cellura and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Oscar, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is something that every person has to measure throughout their life. I always try to take as much time as I can to evaluate risk in the decisions I make pertaining to my career. My dad always told me, “never make a decision when you’re hungry”. Now, I think he told me this when I stole twenty bucks to get a sandwich. Regardless, the deeper meaning is that risk is best calculated when you are in a clear mental state. My career in entertainment has really just began, but I’ve tried my absolute hardest to work on projects that have a healthy level of risk in regards to time and money.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At this point, I’m the most proud of my debut album “My Heart Lied”. The project is about reflecting on a relationship that I was in and just that specific time in my life where I thought I had everything figured out. Turns out I was wrong and my heart, indeed, had lied. I’ve gotten to where I am professionally by just making good friends. It’s very hard to collaborate with a creative person if you do not know their complete story and motives. The biggest challenge that I’ve faced is just comparing myself to others. It’s an inevitable part of the success journey, but comparing yourself to others in your industry will kill your individuality, and joy. I want the world to know that it’s of upmost importance to do things out of love and not fear.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
New York is the greatest city in the world. There are infinite restaurants and places to just get a drink. But, I can’t reveal my spots. They’re “my” spots!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Live Like Leo Foundation. My cousin Leonardo Cellura was taken from us at a very young age. He inspired a life long commitment to help others and never waste a minute!
