Meet Sandman | The Gauntlet Beat Battle

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandman, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When we started the Gauntlet Beat Battle it was just for fun to hear beats and have some friendly competition between some producers we knew. It quickly became something more when those producers shared our platform with their friends. When it started to grow, and we saw that the producers appreciated our critiques and the space to battle we started to take it more seriously.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I will give you an overview of our platform:
The Gauntlet Beat Battle is an online competition for music producers to be heard in a clean, fun environment! The Gauntlet provides both the listeners and competitors awesome music and a riveting contest of skill. It is formatted in a tournament bracket style. We feature 8 competitors feom around the country; regulated by a 3 judge format. We currently broadcast on YouTube. You can find our links here:

What sets us apart from other beat battles is our high musical standard that our community has dubbed being #GauntletReady. We also provide high level critiques from ourselves and music industry giant producers who we have on as guest judges. No other platform provides the experience that The Gauntlet does.

We got to where we are business wise through sheer work ethic and determination. You HAVE to be willing to grind. You have to be willing to do it even when you don’t feel like it. It is never easy. If it is, you aren’t working hard enough.

We overcame challenges by learning from our failures and implementation of best practices to provide our community with a top tier show that they can take ownership in and be proud of.

We want to the world to know that we are working tirelessly to provide them with the “Standard in Beat Battle Culture “

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoot out to every competitor that has graced our platform. Shout out to very major industry guest judge we’ve had in our 6 seasons to include our brother, 5 time Grammy winning multi-platinum producer, Focus… who 100% backs our platform. Also a major rest in peace to our recently departed brother Jason “J Hatch” Hadshian who believed in us and partnered with us. Lastly, shout out to all of our sponsors who provided amazing prizes for our contestants.
