Meet Jurika Iriyama

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jurika Iriyama and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jurika, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
A mantra that has deeply shaped my life is, “What is meant for me is already on its way.” This phrase has been my anchor, especially in my journey toward building a career in social media while balancing the demands of corporate life. Pursuing my passion in content creation hasn’t always been easy, and there were moments when the path forward seemed unclear. This mantra reminds me to trust the timing of my journey and helps me find peace in each step, even when the results aren’t immediate.
When I look back, I realize that the challenges I’ve faced — from the creative blocks to the countless hours dedicated to editing and content creation — are all valuable parts of the journey. Each lesson has taught me resilience, patience, and gratitude. This mantra has helped me appreciate that the process itself is just as meaningful as the destination, and that the experiences I gain along the way make my path unique. It keeps me grounded and reminds me that my dreams are unfolding as they should.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets my work apart is my commitment to storytelling that’s both informative and entertaining, whether I’m diving into the latest trends I’m obsessing over or taking my followers along to hidden spots I stumble upon. I love inviting my followers into my world, introducing them to what genuinely captivates me. I’m most proud of the community I’ve built — people who are drawn to my honest approach and can find both joy and value in my content.
Getting to this point hasn’t been easy. Balancing a corporate job while building a social media presence has been extremely challenging, especially with the long nights editing and the days spent researching, planning, and filming for my next idea. But I’ve learned to embrace patience and persistence, knowing that each step forward is part of my journey. The support of my followers and the inspiration from my mom, have been invaluable in keeping me motivated.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that authenticity resonates deeply. Staying true to myself, sharing the highs and lows, and trusting the timing of my growth are what I want my audience to remember about me and my brand. My story is still unfolding, and I’m excited to see where it takes me!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d kick things off in Shibuya with a visit to the minipig café — easily one of the cutest and most unique cafes in Tokyo! Next, we’d head over to Asakusa for a traditional rickshaw ride through the historic streets, where the architecture and energy make it feel like stepping back in time. For dinner, I’d have to go to Asakusa Unatetsu, which serves some of the best Unagi I’ve ever had.
I would also plan a day all around Kichijoji and Koenji. We’d go thrifting, hunt for vintage finds, and then make our way to the capybara café for a relaxing break. To top it off, we’d stop by Shirohige’s Cream Puff Factory for some Totoro-shaped cream puffs, a sweet treat inspired by the Ghibli films. Then, we’d take a walk through Inokashira Park, grabbing coffee along the way and enjoying lunch at Toriyoshi, a cozy spot within the park serving traditional Japanese dishes.
For a bit of evening relaxation, we’d head to Yokohama’s onsen to experience the calming atmosphere of a Japanese hot spring. Another day, we’d spend the morning at Ark Hills, exploring the Saturday farmers market from 10 am to 2 pm and sampling local food at the nearby restaurants. I also love to stop by Waseda University and grab coffee at a campus café and take in the academic vibes.
Of course, we’d have to include a shopping day in Ginza, known for luxury boutiques and upscale department stores. Then, we’d unwind with a peaceful break at the Tokyo Plaza Harajuku rooftop garden, which offers great city views. To end the week on a high note, we’d spend a full day at Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea, a must for a Tokyo trip!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe so much of my content creation journey to my mom. She’s not only a talented famous writer but also a well-known influencer with a loyal following of 68K on RED (ID: Sakura_red0820), the most used social media app in China. Watching her passion for storytelling and her ability to connect with her audience with self-improvement content has been truly inspiring. From a young age, I saw firsthand how powerful it can be to share your story and content that resonates with others.
She encouraged me to start making videos and always pushed me to explore my creative side. Her support has meant everything, especially during the early days when I was hesitant or unsure of my own voice. Knowing she believed in me gave me the confidence to start my own path in content creation. Her influence has been a guiding force, and I’m incredibly grateful for her mentorship and encouragement every step of the way.
