We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Koufou and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Honesty is a huge principle to me. In everything you do in life, relationships, friendships, and especially business I feel it is always better to be transparent, upfront, and communicative. As an agent, I pride myself on working hard for my client’s best interest. I am honest about the situations we are in and give them solid advice to make their own decisions. I always come wanting to consult and never to convince. Communication at a high level is essential to prevent any misconceptions or confusion. It’s important to not only be honest in your profession but transparent as well!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a real estate professional! I work for myself and can say that it wasn’t and isn’t an easy thing to do. There is a lot of accountability and self-control that has to come into play when you’re the one making your own schedule. This is still something I am continuing to learn every day! I just keep practicing setting my week and doing my best not to deviate from it! One thing I’ve learned is that real estate takes a lot of investment both of your time and your money. One thing I pride myself in, which I feel sets me apart, is that I am dedicated to the process. So many agents quit and give up when things get hard but I rise to the challenge and stick it out. This has been one of the most difficult markets in the past 25 years and many people have gotten out of real estate because of it. The way I see it, with me surviving this market, I am equipped and ready to be a resource to people when the market starts to shift.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh my goodness I absolutely love Oceanside. There are so many good spots. Here are a couple of my all time favorites!

My by-far FAVORITE breakfast restaurant is Dons Country Kitchen in Oceanside. The food is to die for and they have a really pretty mimosa flight that is so fun to share.

Rookies Sports bar! – Best chicken wings in town. A super fun atmosphere to watch sports hear good music, shoot some pool and have a good drink. I am also a server there and love all the staff. It is such a fun welcoming Oceanside staple that has been open for the past 29 years!

Crackheads in Oceanside- This is the cutest little outdoor patio bar! This spot has three completely different food vendors selling products in the back of the establishment with an outdoor bar in the center surrounded by turf and benches and even sand and bean bag toss for the little ones.

Kampai Sushi- This cute little restaurant tucked away off of Oceanside Blvd has THE BEST sushi with THE MOST affordable prices. Their red dragon roll and spicy garlic edamame are my go-to meal

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom Tammie, and sister Valerie have been a rock for me at such a pivotal time in my life. They have always been so supportive and encouraging of my real estate goals. I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of their love and support. They remind me all the time to keep moving forward with my head high no matter what life throws at me!
