Meet Cc Blue | Blues Guitarist Singer & Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cc Blue and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi CC, why did you pursue a creative career?
Music has been a part of me since I was a kid, watching my older brothers play the guitar in their band. Seeing them, I knew deep down that one day I’d be up there too. But I never took the conventional path—no formal lessons. Instead, I taught myself, figuring it out as I went along, which turned into a lifelong journey of exploration and expression.
In the early days, I cut my teeth playing the rock scene in Orange County, but it was the blues that pulled me in completely. It wasn’t just the music itself—it was how the blues allowed me to find my voice, literally and creatively. It felt honest, raw, and connected to something deep within me. I think that’s what creativity is about: finding a way to channel your experiences and emotions into something that others can feel, too.
Being on stage is where I feel most alive, but art doesn’t stop there for me. When I’m not playing music, I’m painting, creating another kind of story with my hands. Both are ways of expressing how I see the world—through sound and color. That’s why I chose this path. It’s where I feel most like myself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Beyond songwriting, I have a deep passion for painting landscapes and seascapes on canvas. What sets me apart is my love for all things artistic—whether it’s music or visual art, I’m always driven to create. I’ve been oil painting for about six years now, and while the journey hasn’t always been easy, I’ve learned that talent is really just a spark of interest that you pursue relentlessly.
The biggest lessons I’ve learned are to stay true to your creative vision and never compromise your authenticity, no matter the medium. Always push yourself to grow, refine your skills, and explore new depths in your art. That’s what keeps the fire burning, and that’s what I want people to take away from my story.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d want to show them the full San Diego experience. First, we’d definitely hit up the beautiful San Diego beaches—whether it’s catching some waves or just relaxing in the sun. For food, I’d take them to explore the amazing variety of ethnic cuisines, starting with the incredible Italian spots in Little Italy and the diverse flavors on Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa.
We’d also get outdoors and hike some of the stunning terrain around the area—there’s something for every skill level. For nightlife, we’d head to the Gaslamp Quarter for live music, great food, and some good drinks. And of course, we couldn’t skip the family-friendly attractions like Balboa Park, Belmont Park, SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, Safari Park, and maybe even Legoland. It’s a perfect blend of culture, adventure, and fun!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the unwavering support of my wife and children. They’ve been my biggest cheerleaders, standing by me through both the highs and the lows—even in moments when I may not have deserved it. Their belief in me has been a constant source of strength.
I also want to give a special shoutout to the Music 4 Life, Blues 4 the Soul organization and its founder, Kat Witten. Their sponsorship and business guidance were pivotal in elevating CC Blues Factory to new heights. Through this partnership, we’ve been able to not only grow as a band but also give back, sharing our passion for music with others in a meaningful way.
