We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim Tran and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kim, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I wholeheartedly believe that consistency and follow up are key players behind the success of Rind Co. We nurture relationships with our guests, team, and professional community with personalized check ins.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Rind Co. (Sculpt by Rind, Rind Skin, and Rind Head Spa), our focus is on nurturing guests through tailored high touch treatments. What truly sets us apart is our holistic approach. We offer our guest a deeper understanding of how the mind, body, and skin are interconnected.
As for my journey—it was anything but easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I had moments of self-doubt, fear, and uncertainty. Starting a business in the wellness space, especially in such a niche market, had its hurdles. I faced a lot of trial and error in finding the right messaging and understanding my guest’s evolving needs. But each challenge taught me to trust the process and lean into my strengths.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the power of staying true to your vision while being flexible enough to pivot when necessary. I believe in the importance of keeping things personal.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First thing, black sesame matcha latte from Provecho!
Curry pan from Asa Bakery
Late morning class at either Mad House Dance or Salt Pilates (with Maria)
Pool day & lunch at The LaFayette
Rollerskating before dinner at Skateworld
Dinner at King Fisher or Thai at Kin Lin
Sidewalk seating at Mabel’s for drinks & people watching
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
What’s the max word count for this question? This could be an extra long answer! Mr. Rind aka my husband continues to be my anchor. As I am writing this he is optimizing our MGB page. I really could write novels about his support but will spare you the dramatics. There’s no way I could have made it here without the generosity of my esthetician community and friends. They selflessly share their time, gifts, and resources with me. When the bat signal lights up the team assembles.
