Hi Jules, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The decision to start my own businesses was inspired by observing my father and younger sister take the leap into entrepreneurship and witnessing their subsequent success. My father has dedicated over two decades to his pool service business, while my sister has achieved nearly two years of growth in her nail business. After thoughtful consideration, I made the bold choice to leave my 9-5 job and pursue three distinct business ventures. I was prepared for change, eager to confront challenges, and committed to continuous learning. While the journey to launch these ventures has been filled with obstacles, I am now able to unleash my creativity, nurture my businesses, and lay the foundation for a legacy to benefit my family. Ultimately, my aim is to create a life where my creativity and personality can radiate with purpose.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m really excited to share that I own three businesses! One of them is my content creation brand where I make amazing content for brands and businesses, including ads for brand awareness and engaging organic videos. I’ve been creating videos since the summer of 2020 and now I’m doing it full-time, which is super fulfilling.

My second business is a party host service where I help people at events like small gatherings, weddings, and birthdays – I just love seeing everyone have a great time.

Then there’s my local dog and cat service where I offer dog walking and dog and cat home drop-in services. I absolutely adore spending time with these fur babies!

What really sets me apart from others is the way I run my businesses. I put a lot of effort into nurturing relationships with my clients and it’s super important to me to provide exceptional service every time. I’ve learned so much from my father and I’m proud to take risks and see my hard work pay off.

This journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s definitely worth it. I’m always open to change and willing to learn from others. No matter what anyone says or thinks, I’m passionate about my journey and I’m determined to succeed.

I believe we are all capable and worthy of our dreams, and I can’t wait to expand and connect with more seasoned business owners.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A week in San Diego with my best friend would like the following. We’ll kick off the week with a hike up Cowles Mountain Trail, offering breathtaking views at the summit. Along the way back, we’ll make a pit stop at Pure Press Juice Bar, renowned for its delightful selection of fresh juices and smoothies.

Tuesday calls for a visit to the stunning La Jolla Cove Beach. Here, we’ll bask in the beauty of the ocean views and encounter sea lions. Following this, we’ll relish a delectable breakfast at Harry’s Coffee Shop, known for its sumptuous omelets and flavorful sandwiches.

Midweek adventure takes us to the cultural haven of Balboa Park, where we’ll immerse ourselves in the diverse offerings of the House of Pacific Relations International Cottages. For a delightful dinner experience, we’ll savor the succulent steaks and delectable sides at Cowboy Star Restaurant and Butcher Shop.

Thursday brings us to the vibrant heart of Downtown San Diego, providing an opportunity to marvel at the Kissing Sailor Statue and indulge in the panoramic ocean views. As the day winds down, we’ll partake in a memorable dining experience at The Fish Market – San Diego, where an indulgence in Cioppino or swordfish amidst an elegant ambience awaits.

The enchanting allure of Old Town San Diego awaits us on Friday, with an enriching visit to the historic Whaley House Museum and a delightful dinner at the vibrant Cafe Coyote.

Our Saturday escapade entails an invigorating hike at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, offering sweeping views of the coast. Following this, we’ll replenish our energies with a brunch or lunch at the panoramic Monarch Ocean Pub in Del Mar.

As we draw towards the end of the week, Sunday presents an opportunity to explore the cultural tapestry of Chicano Park and Barrio Logan. Our culinary adventure will culminate with a delightful lunch at ¡SALUD TACOS!, and we’ll savor a sweet ending with delectable desserts at Gelato Paradiso in Coronado. A week filled with unforgettable experiences would await us.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wish to extend my appreciation to four individuals who have significantly contributed to my development as a business entrepreneur.

To begin, I wish to acknowledge my father, whose enduring dedication to maintaining a successful small business and delivering exceptional service to his clientele has been a source of inspiration. His work ethic has been a profound influence, shaping my own approach to work and propelling me to pursue my dreams. His unwavering commitment, meticulous attention to detail, and steadfast attitude toward overcoming challenges have served as valuable lessons. He possesses the resilience to persevere through the trials encountered in both his professional and personal life. His frequent counsel, “Julie, ¡échale ganas!” (Julie, give it your all!), has instilled in me an enduring sense of determination.

Subsequently, I would like to commend my younger sister, whose resilience and remarkable creativity have left a lasting impression. From an early age, she has demonstrated a remarkable aptitude for crafting do-it-yourself projects, a discerning eye for creating offerings that resonate with others, and an unwavering work ethic. Commencing her small business two years ago, she has flourished, delivering incomparable nail sets that solicit admiration from her clients and others. She has exemplified the principle of “si se puede” and has underscored the importance of creativity in nurturing the soul.

Furthermore, I would like to express my gratitude to my partner, who has been an unwavering pillar of support throughout my ongoing entrepreneurial journey. He has assumed the role of my primary advocate, a perpetual source of constructive feedback, an indispensable asset in content creation, a consultant in business matters, and my anticipated collaborator in future ventures. His unreserved belief in my pursuits and unwavering encouragement for the realization of my aspirations underscore the significance of a robust support structure in fostering success.
