Meet Diana Silva | Digital Marketing Executive & Molé Mama Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Silva and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Diana, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I grew up on a Dairy farm on California’s fertile Central Coast. My success as a digital marketer and entrepreneur was born in those fields, with honest, hardworking parents, other farmers, and their families.
5. And lastly, the most important lesson of all, they taught me to be kind, emphatic, and practice good manners.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am cooking, developing new recipes for partners, recording podcasts, writing new blog posts, filming new videos, networking, learning new technologies, and connecting with my fans and followers. I’m busy and working harder than I ever, but I absolutely love it!
I’m so proud of the community and the connections I’ve made. The home chefs making our recipes, my inspiring podcast guests, and the readers of my book. My heart smiles, seeing our recipes being made all over the world, helping someone recreate a lost family recipe like refried beans, and receiving comments about how my book helped someone cope with the loss of their mother.
My business has brought me so much joy and remarkable opportunities. I’ve made some colossal mistakes. The hardest thing for me has been to transition from a hobby to a legitimate, striving business. I’ve run very successful organizations in corporate America, but I led this business with my heart and failed to bring my business A-game to the party. Thankfully, with my hubby’s help, a business plan, financial goals, I’m turning the corner becoming profitable. I have some huge plans for our future, and I hope to be releasing my food line soon. I’ve also learned that it’s essential to research potential partnerships, and if something sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. Every wrong turn I’ve made, I heard that little voice inside me saying don’t do it, and I ignored it. My advice is to listen to that little voice. I know I am NOW!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’re going to eat delicious food, listen to live music, and visit some of my favorite Southern California spots! And yes, we will be driving a lot! First up, my girl Jill Scott will be on tour at Humphrys Outdoor Concerts on the Bay in San Diego, and we’ll have great seats. We’ll have dinner before the concert at Cesarina’s in Point Loma. It’s my favorite Italian spot! We’ll join one of the San Diego Sandcastles sculptors and build an outlandish sandcastle in Del Mar and then have lunch at Jake’s. Our last night in San Diego will include a movie at the rooftop cinema in downtown San Diego. It’s a must-do! And we’ll spend the entire day at Disneyland and California Adventure Land, and I mean arrive when it opens and leave when it closes because I love it! And plan on going on California Soarin and Indiana Jones at least two times! We’ll also visit the Getty museum, the meditation gardens in Encinitas, Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, Handel’s Ice Cream, and a SpeakEasy. I’ll also pull out my oakwood pit and BBQ spicy baby back ribs, tri-tip, linguica, and toast garlic bread and drink my hubby’s delicious margaritas. I’ll send her home with at least 20 lbs of her favorites(crunchy tacos, empanadas, cupcakes), frozen and ready to eat after her long days at the hospital in NYC.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband, Sean Head, has been my biggest supporter in my personal and professional life for the last decade. He’s a brilliant businessman and provides countless hours of business acumen, brainstorming, and sometimes feedback that everyone else is too scared to give me, but things I need to know. His honesty is invaluable. We all need at least one person who is willing to tell us how it is, and I’m so blessed to have him. He’s also my biggest cheerleader, encouraging me to keep dreaming, stretching, and guiding me on how to get there! Sean is also an accomplished urban farmer and fills our kitchen with delicious fruits and vegetables. I love creating new recipes with them and he’s always willing to try my new creations and lets just say, not all of them are fabulous!
