We had the good fortune of connecting with Gia Scavia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Gia: It was going to be my 7th birthday and I wanted to have a spa party at a salon because I had gone to a really cool one in México but we couldn’t find any here that was for kids so we made our own spa and hired friends that are professionals and are along for the adventure.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We just want everyone to feel included and for every single girl to feel pretty and know their worth. Our brand is all about kindness and encouragement. We did everything ourselves to create this business, from painting our camper pink and turning it into a spa to building our team of people that believe in this and want to have fun above all.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Little Italy to eat, Seaport Village to walk, La Jolla cove and the seals. There’s a lot of awesome hikes.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Mom and little sister, this is our business together. My dad who does all the heavy work and moves the camper all around San Diego for our events. My aunt Cocoro who is a professional make-up artist and hair stylist. And our friend Karla who is an artist and has transported her art into doing beautiful nail designs.
