Meet Christos Watson | Photographer/Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christos Watson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christos, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk-taking isn’t a leap into the unknown; it’s the rhythm of growth. Shifting from a stable career to a creative odyssey marked a pivotal leap. It’s about challenging comfort zones, embracing uncertainty, and evolving with every click. Risks aren’t just about the business; they’re about personal and artistic expansion.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally? Please tell us more about your art. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about.
At Stos Photography, it’s about crafting more than just images; it’s about weaving stories. What sets me apart is the commitment to authenticity. Each photo is a chapter, capturing not just moments but emotions in their purest form. I take pride in the ability to create a visual narrative that resonates, whether it’s a portrait or a lifestyle branding story. What excites me the most is the endless potential to transform ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.
Professionally, I’m deeply immersed in the world of photography with my business, Stos Photography. What sets my art apart is my unwavering commitment to authenticity and inclusivity. I work with a diverse range of clients, celebrating the uniqueness of each individual, regardless of size, background, or identity.
What truly excites me about my art is the opportunity to connect with people on a deeper level and capture their essence. Whether I’m photographing a personal brand, highlighting products, or simply capturing a person’s unique identity, my goal is to translate their story into compelling visual narratives that resonate with authenticity.
I take immense pride in creating a space where everyone feels seen, heard, and celebrated. It’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about fostering genuine connections and empowering individuals to embrace their true selves.
Ultimately, what keeps me inspired and driven is the joy of seeing my clients succeed and flourish. Knowing that I’ve played a part in helping them achieve their dreams, goals, and passions is incredibly fulfilling and drives me to continue pushing the boundaries of my art.
How did you get to where you are today professionally? Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
The journey has been a dynamic dance between passion and perseverance. Transitioning from social services to photography was a leap, and it wasn’t a seamless path. Challenges were abundant, from mastering the technicalities of photography to navigating the competitive creative landscape. The key was embracing challenges as stepping stones. I overcame by staying true to my vision, continually learning, and adapting to an ever-evolving industry. Lessons learned include the importance of resilience, the power of continuous learning, and the art of turning challenges into opportunities.

Through Stos Photography, I want the world to know that connection is key, and together, we can create something truly magical.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend was in town, I’d skip the touristy clichés and dive into the local gems. The day kicks off with a caffeine fix at Euro Caffe or Coffee Dose—both hip and vibrant spots. We’d then head to Little Corona Del Mar Beach, my sanctuary with its calming coves and cliffs. It’s not just picturesque; it’s where I find peace.
For sustenance, I’d whip up some snacks or a micro cheese board aka cheese and crackers with some protein lol; sand tends to make me a bit nervous! After a day of sun and waves, a leisurely stroll down the pier or through Huntington Beach’s main street is a must. Alternatively, we could explore the breweries near the Packing House or dive into the lively atmosphere at 212 Grill and Nightclub in Fullerton.
As the day winds down, home becomes our haven. Picture this: Schitt’s Creek on the screen, a fresh pizza on its way, and perhaps a new movie to cap off the night. A perfect blend of beach vibes, local haunts, and cozy evenings—because the best experiences are shared with great company.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to ShoutOut my friend Alexa Phelece and her non-profit EBDL: Every Body Deserves love. She is doing amazing things creating a platform / organization that helps everyone and anyone be themselves and build confidence.
