We had the good fortune of connecting with Zsa-Zsa Rosado and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zsa-Zsa, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Wouldn’t we all agree that life gets boring and pointless if we stay within our limits of what we already know? Staying within our limits prevents us from growth and success, which is one of the most important lessons I’ve learned through my modeling journey. I learned to get comfortable with the uncomfortable and to never set limits to myself. Why is that? I knew that modeling is my career goal and in order to achieve it, I needed to cut the excuses. I needed to cut the excuses to reach my full potential. Nothing was easy to get where I am at today, it was not easy becoming who I wanted to become through my development and improvements within myself, and it wont get any easier when I keep striving for my goal. I needed to get out of my comfort zone in meeting new people, branding myself out, and communicate my way through. I tell myself everyday that I am going to keep going no matter what, not only to have experience, but to be successful and grow. I’m determined to make my dream come to reality. You see, I know that everyone in this world are living 24 hours a day, and I wanted to be that person to use my time wisely to believe in myself, stay consistent, block the negativity that come my way, focus on the present, and do what I got to do to get a step closer to my career goal.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As I had mentioned about modeling, I do photoshoots and I am a model for music videos as well. In addition, I am helping others promote their clothing brand and being involved in shorts films to promote and explain backstories of their brand. With all the projects that I do, I am absolutely proud of myself for cutting the excuses and being hungry for more in life when it comes to modeling. I want everyone to know that I have been broken before and dealt with many hardships, but guess what, I am still standing strong and putting one foot in front of the other in order to keep moving forward. To be honest, I will never forget the experience and harsh lessons that I have learned because I have to always recognize and give myself appreciation that I did not accept the life that was given to me. I did not want to let the life given to me to hold me down nor have the people or even family to hold me back. I am my own person and I knew what was inside me needed to be out there, and needed to reach for the stars. I would have to say, it was not easy and I believe everything in life isn’t easy when you want to accomplish something. The real question is, do we let the challenges overtake us? No. Although my mother was my #1 supporter, the hardest challenge that I had to overcome was my other family members not supporting me. I heard it all from them. I cried because it hurt, but what I kept telling myself was, “Am I really going to stop doing what I love just because someone else said so?” I learned that no matter what you do, there will always be people and even family members who want to see you doing good but never better than them, and that is one of the lessons I learned along the way. Lastly, I want the world to know that I have a name and a story behind it just like everyone else. I have a name and was brought here with a purpose and to live it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting me and it was a week long trip, I would take my friend to grab some boba at Little Nap Cafe and head straight to Sunset Cliffs. I believe that it would be a relaxing time to let our minds relax and for us to connect with nature and disconnect from everything else. I enjoy the little moments being spent with the people I love, because watching the sunset, bringing the calm energy in and talk about things that need to get off our chest is a great stress reliever. I also would take my friend in a car ride at night in the city of San Diego and just listen to music and just drive. The simple things in life makes me happy because I feel like most people are just focused on social media and negative things that are on the internet, which then prevents us to focus on the precious moments we share with ourselves, friends, and the place we live in or visit. Another place I would take my friend is Balboa Park. I had many memories there from childhood to now. Lastly, I would also take my friend to Seaport to go out and take a walk and since we are close to Downtown, we would go out to eat King and Queen Cantina. Since I love the beach, I would definitely rent a beach house for us to have a fun spa day. Another activity, I would like to take my friend to go rollerblading, longboard, or ride bikes by Mission Beach. Since we would be at the beach, it would be a great idea to sun bathe and hit the waters.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to first shout out my mother who have supported me through the ups and downs in my modeling experience. My mother is the strongest woman I know and from that, she had made me become a strong woman that I am today and will remain to be in the future. I of course need to always appreciate and shout out the one who helped me to start the modeling journey. I want to thank an old friend of mine who recommended me to participate in Picture Party, which is an event where all creatives come together to branch themselves out and build connections. Without Picture Party, I wouldn’t have met amazing filmers, photographers, and other models. I want to thank every person that I have worked with because without them, I would not be where I am at today. Lastly, I want to thank LA and SD Voyage for giving me the opportunity to not only tell my story, but to inspire others as well.
