We had the good fortune of connecting with Yvonne Parma and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yvonne, how do you think about risk?
The biggest risk I had to take was giving up my 9 to 5 job, I had a steady pay check, having that secure income each month, stability and reliability, but I felt limited with my capability and creativity in my job even though I loved it. My boyfriend at the time, would constantly say to me “imagine ALL this effort and commitment you invest to grow others people businesses was in YOUR OWN business!” That Always made me think.

Having to give that up, take the risk to pursue my dream to be an entrepreneur, manage my own time, and do all the stuff I wanted to do was so hard, “NOT TO BE AFRAID” and I think many people can relate that we get scared of the unknown and not feeling “secure”.

I learned that taking risks is just the start to accomplishing your dreams. You can’t jump in blindly, have not one plan but multiple plans, consistent effort and perseverance. We had a goal and have been working hard every day to get closer. Taking risks isn’t scary anymore, we embrace them, have a positive attitude and are always optimistic even when something doesn’t go as planned. These have been the best 3 years of my professional life, I am grateful for my 9 to 5 jobs that brought me here and have contributed for me to be who I am today.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are a one stop shop. We help our clients from the idea to execution and everything you need is here, no need to go get a web designer, graphic designer and marketing expert in different places, struggle with them communicating, etc. One of our modos is “Your business is OUR business”. We truly love seeing our clients grow and growing with them, we become a family! We are available 24/7.

We started from zero, my husband had an accident, which left him as a paraplegic, he lost his job and I needed time to take care of him and our 2 boys, he had over 17 years of experience in sales and I have over 10 years of marketing experience, we had our knowledge, computers, camera and drone, so why not? The first thing we worked on was our marketing and branding, going to events uniformed and covering them for “free” which was an investment of our time and having presence. Once we landed one client, they just kept coming on word to mouth. Here we are 3 years later, growing!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
San Diego is such a fun and amazing city. When we have people visiting we love to take them to:

1. Coronado, just the drive is exciting, if weather conditions are good, go paddle boarding and/or Kayaking. Cruise around on rollerblades or bicycle riding, have a picnic.
2. Downtown San Diego to little Italy and grab some dinner, we love eating at Parma’s Restaurant.
3. An evening walk to grab a coffee and see the sunset at seaport village, ride the carousel, the stores are great to walk around in.
4. We take some of our friends shopping to the Korean Super Market for lunch and see all the amazing food, desserts and random things they sale, we are big fans of oriental cuisine, and you really don’t see that in Mexico.
5. Imperial Beach, to grab some drinks or walk on the pier.
6. Kids? Balboa park to the museums.
So much to do!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am thankful to a person who made me believe in myself, and saw things I didn’t see in me. He gave me the strength and believed in me to take this huge step and begin my own business. Angel Frost has been a mentor, my friend, my muse and encourages me every step of the way.

“You are so Bad Ass, if you invested all your amazing knowledge and effort to YOUR own business instead of your employers, grow YOUR OWN business, instead of someone else’s, imagine what you could accomplish”. -Angel.

3 years later here we are, with more than 50 clients and so many new ones joining the 646 Family.
