Meet Yael Levy | Certified Life Coach & Barre Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yael Levy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yael, what do you attribute your success to?
The combination of my life experience and my education has helped me a lot with success. As a former officer in the Israeli Airforce guiding and training many young soldiers, as a former student, business owner for over 14 years, as a mother, wife, and more, I grew to understand that if life isn’t well lived or balanced, it will not be lived to it’s maximum potential. I was very motivated to find a way to balance out life to be grounded and have time for everything in my life. During my coaching course, I was fortunate to find techniques and was able to coach myself and others.
As a certified life coach and as a fitness Barre instructor I get to motivate people in all three aspects of mind, body, and soul. I love how they are all connected and their impact on one another. When I combine my skills and abilities with this purpose, I can do what I love and help people at the same time.
I like helping people realize they are capable of doing so much more than they think. I want them to set their goals high and achieve something that seems impossible. I like seeing people challenge themselves; the reward is so much bigger on the other side.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from from other life coaches in the industry is my experience and knowledge in many fields in life that I have earned through my journey till now. I chose this field because I love working with people, motivating them, and helping them grow outside of their comfort zone. I like helping people realize they are worth more than they think they are and that they are capable of doing amazing things. Most importantly, it is all their choice, and they don’t need anything else besides themselves. With that, building my own business supports my work method and enables me to work the way I believe is best for my clients. Life coaching really helped me coach myself and find the perfect work-life balance. Of course, even I, as a life coach, need to adjust at times, especially as a mother when not everything is predicted. When I feel like my life isn’t balanced, I get the opportunity to coach myself and find that right balance again. I can’t say that every day is perfect, but yes, most of the days go by smoothly and balanced.
As a mother, understanding what a powerful role model I am for my children, made me change my thinking process. It motivated me to figure out things at home to make my success possible with no guilt. If many of us would understand the circumstances and the message conveyed in giving up our dreams or not living a life of fulfillment because of our children, partners, or our surroundings, we might make different decisions about many things.
Work-life balance to me means that in my life, I do not lose the balance in what makes me feel happy. It also means not letting work take me away from important commitments like family time or fitting in personal goals. I realize that I must keep a good balance in my work and the rest of my life. If any one area starts taking over, it’s time to take action and make changes.
My goal is to make sure every day I feel like the best version of myself. The more opportunities I give myself at work, the more opportunities I will get out of my success. And it isn’t about working harder; it’s about working smarter.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
San Diego is fun! Assuming it would be a kid friendly trip, This is where I would take them:
Day 1: Starting Torrey Pines State Reserve that has many hikes that can accommodate any age. Families can enjoy the view and the beach. We would continue to La Jolla Cove to watch the Sea Lions in the nature. If we feel fancy we can stop at George’s at the Cove or enjoy any restaurant nearby. Puesto Tacos is another good option for a local restaurant to have fun tacos and good cocktails.
Day 2: Balboa Park has so much to offer. I love the Natural History Museum, San Diego Air & Space Museum and Fleet Science Center and the walk to the Botanical building. Hiking the 7 Bridges of San Diego is a fun urban walk. There is a nice Segway tour at balboa as well.
Day 3: San Diego Zoo is such a great place for a family experience. Although it is very close to Balboa park, I would devote a full day for the Zoo. It is fun, beautiful and a great walk.
Day 4: Downtown San Diego, including- Little Italy, Waterfront Park, USS Midway Museum, the Kissing Statue and a fun marina walk. Little Italy would provide a great dining experience at any one of the Italian restaurants, stopping at Holy Paleta for Dessert- Heaven on a Stick.
Day 5: Annie’s Canyon Trail, Encinitas beach and San Diego Botanic Garden. I love Annie’s Canyon trail, my kids really enjoy walking between the narrow walls.
Day 6: Day trip to Julian and Ramona. Reserve a tour at Camel Dairy Farm that is located between Julian and Ramona, and then drive to Julian. Depending on the time of year they might have apple picking. Some stops at Julian- Julian mining company, California Wolf Center, Julian Cider Mill and Mom’s Pie House.
Day 7: Old Town San Diego and Mission Bay for relaxation.
Local restaurants I love: Cuchina Enoteca Del Mar, Underbelly North Park, Bleu Boheme on Adams Ave, Luce Bar & Kitchen, Campfire Carlsbad, URBN North Park for pizza, Azuki Sushi Lounge and Bueno Forchetta Liberty Station.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I will dedicate this shoutout to my husband that has been a very inspiring entrepreneur and business man, as well as a great father I can trust to take over my roles as a mother when needed. He manages to balance his work-family life in a very good manner, and it has been very fascinating to see and be part of his journey. In addition, my parents and sister, have been very supportive, involved, and believed in the path I have taken. I was fortunate to find myself surrounded with successful and loving family members and friends, and especially strong, inspiring women that I look up to.
