Meet Woman’s Club Of Carlsbad Woman’s Club Of Carlsbad | Social Philanthropic Nonprofit

We had the good fortune of connecting with Woman’s Club Of Carlsbad Woman’s Club Of Carlsbad and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Woman’s Club of Carlsbad, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The Woman’s Club of Carlsbad is celebrating a Century of Service! For 100 years, the Woman’s Club of Carlsbad has been quietly but powerfully transforming lives across North County San Diego. Our club has 130 passionate women, dedicated to serving others through hands-on volunteer work, donations, and educational scholarships. From its humble beginnings in 1925, the club has grown into a cornerstone of community support, kindness, and caring. At the heart of the Club’s success is connection, both among club members and to the community. Lifelong friendships are formed, and the club’s years-long outreach to the community have fostered a reputation of caring for others. Our members embrace the profound rewards of volunteerism and the immeasurable value of heartfelt giving.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Originally founded to assist families in the town of Carlsbad, the club’s mission has expanded to include health and wellness, education, the arts, the environment and more. Today, the Woman’s Club of Carlsbad partners with over 50 local organizations, including Meals on Wheels, Got Your Back, Solutions for Change, the Foundation for Women Warriors, Stand Up for Kids, and the Boys & Girls Club of Carlsbad. The club has also made donations to assist families on Camp Pendleton, provided over $60,000 in scholarships for nursing students and high school senior women, and has a county-wide program to provide comfort pillows to cancer patients recovering from surgery. Overall, the club’s impact has always been personal, heartfelt, and deeply appreciated.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
To our clubhouse! At 3320 Monroe Street in Carlsbad, the clubhouse is available to rent, with all proceeds benefiting the club’s ongoing community efforts. At 3,700 square feet, the clubhouse is an inviting, state-of-the-art facility that can serve as a hub for the community and a functional space where local partnerships can thrive. The building is air-conditioned and includes a large multipurpose room and foyer, a small prep kitchen and a larger storage kitchen, restrooms, a stage, and an outdoor patio. Behind the building is a 57-space parking lot. Recent renovations made possible by generous donors and club fundraisers include a prep kitchen remodel, and the purchase of new tables and 200 new chairs, a perfect venue for family, school, and community events.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We dedicate the club’s current success to the many generations of women who have come before us. When the Woman’s Club of Carlsbad was formed in 1925, town organizations were men only and women did not have legal status to even write their own checks. But as a club, women could do things together they couldn’t do on their own and the Woman’s Club has always been savvy with money. This financial freedom was key to the club’s survival as the club purchased and sold several properties over the years, often to great profit and benefit to the community. Current members often look back to the women who have come before us and try to continue their legacy of feisty, spunky, get-it-done women.
