We had the good fortune of connecting with Will Chitwood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Will, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I would say that having goals and being consistent in working towards them. Since I was in college I’ve always made goals for the long and short term. Once the goal is written down, I figure out the steps to achieve it and then start working towards them.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve been fortunate to do what I love and turn it into a successful business! When I started Dancing DJ Productions in 2001 it was more of a hobby since I just enjoyed the music and energy of events. Then over time, I realized it could be a business. It took a lot of work, time, and dedication to keep the business growing and making sure to provide a great service for our clients. I’m so grateful for my team of amazing DJs and the great work they do that helped grow us into the most reviewed DJ company in the San Diego area!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’ve always been a fan of music. So one of the things I enjoy doing is going to concerts. It’s a great bonding activity with friends and the energy of the crowd is amazing and is like DJing on steroids! Humphreys Concerts By The Bay is a great local venue to see live music.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Brian Tracy’s books and courses really helped guide me and get clarity on my goals. I still use many of his principles on a daily basis!
