We had the good fortune of connecting with Wes Chiller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Wes, what principle do you value most?
Honesty is big for me. I handle most of my business in hand shakes.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I tend to think it gets pretty gnarly trying to explain what you’re doin artistically. For me, I just try to mix up my approach each time I start a new project and see where it lands me. Not that I am anywhere, but I got to this point by being consistent and not stopping. The challenge is existential so you acknowledge it and move on to the practice. I would like people to just enjoy the music. And, if you don’t, thanks for playin.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I like north county a lot, but we’d go surf, get a cocktail, throw down on some asada over the bbq flames, and let it ride.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ll dedicate most of my success to my family. They helped cultivate my interest in music. Aside from them, a few key players include Kyle Krone, Matt Wignall, Christiana Sudano, Ari Berl, Morgan Stratton, Sundergarmn McBendershorn, and all the excellent musicians that have played and currently play in my live performances. I still have a long way to go but they’ve been a huge influence.
