We had the good fortune of connecting with Warrior Queen Artist and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Warrior Queen, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I see risks as faith, and opportunities for adventures. I’ve always been a curious kid and enjoyed the wonderment of what life has to offer even though taking a risk can be scary. I always come back to my breath so, before the leap, I breathe in and upon my exhale I surrender to trust. I would not be where I am today without trusting that there will be something magical on the other side. It’s letting go of the judgment of that something, to be good or bad, right or wrong, in pain or pleasure, in loss or gain. It is from this place of receiving what is, to just be, and then we can take whatever is on the other side of risk and allow it to be a return to our own truest self. Risk is belief in myself that anything is possible even in adversity. Risk is the voice that says, do it, I got you! Taking risks in my life has opened doors of golden opportunities and has given me the courage to keep going no matter the outcome. Risk is also my intuition, that inner guidance. It’s listening to that still small voice within that says yes or no and me following through with it, coming back to trust. As an artist, it’s knowing that I will be able to draw or paint the image I see in my mind and that I’ll connect with the people that align with my imagination and creations, whether it be through shows or a simple conversation on the streets. As an intuitive yoga guide it’s knowing I will be given exactly what needs to be taught or spoken about to each person, including myself, as we are all teachers. In my social circles, it’s knowing I have a right to speak my voice and for it to be heard. I learned that how we do one thing is how we do the rest of our life, so why not have fun, and allow freedom, even in risk. Risk is that moment you allow yourself to let go and enjoy the ride!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a charcoal artist but love all mediums. I am called to draw spirit guides, animals, warriors, and nature. I think what sets me apart is, I set sacred space by meditating on intentions and asking for guidance of what wants to come through to bring out emotion in a person, to encourage people to heal and stand in their power, to find their voices and paths by connecting to their Spirit guides and the truth of who they are. My art studio not only consists of my own works of art, but other local artists as well to support and encourage them but also to inspire me. I set an altar space of crystals, a lot of rose quartz to open the heart to receive love, carnelian, the reminder we are all creators of our life, malachite, the reminder we can have an abundant life, and master quartz, the reminder that all we need to know already exists within us; what we are seeking, is seeking us. I play musical instruments, I dance, I chant, listen to high vibrational music, burn sage, palo santo and whatever else wants to be on the altar to bring sacredness to each image. I infuse the energy of love and truth, to speak to the person that feels connected and called to take their art home. I do all this from the beginning of building my canvases from the grounding earth element wood, till the end of the finished masterpiece. I give honor to the whole process so when my clients receive, they know they are bringing something sacred into their spaces physically and mentally. I want people to know that I honor them and that they are safe, loved, and respected through all of my creations. From one day to six weeks, I reset this space every time I sit down to create. I begin it all with cleansing myself spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically first so that I am a clear, pure channel of divine creation. I incorporate how I practice and guide yoga into my daily life, always with intention.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
At the moment I am traveling, but I have landed in Lake Havasu Arizona for a time. I am certain it’s the most grounding healing space on earth that I have experienced, something magical about the desert here, so I would begin our day with a hike through Sara’s Crack down to the water, a yoga class and sound healing or chant at Eight Lotus Yoga, and then a delicious smoothie and treat from Herbs Herbs and of course a bit of local boutique shopping. There is usually some sort of event going on in town and the community here is very special, warm and welcoming with a smile, always, so it just kinda makes your day to be outside with everyone. It really is a happy little gem of a place.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Most important shoutout is my yoga practice, mediation, my connection to God, my Buddha nature and my family and true friends, without their love and loving myself enough to take sacred pauses every day to connect to Spirit, all of it would be meaningless. I have so many books that have encouraged my growth but two that stand out are Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and Happiness Becomes You by Tina Turner. Both authors have shown me to dream big, and that anything is possible.
