Meet Vineet Kaur | Entrepreneur, Project Manager & Humanitarian

We had the good fortune of connecting with Vineet Kaur and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vineet, what role has risk played in your life or career?
People are afraid of taking risks because of the fear of failure and truly I am not afraid of putting myself out there, failing or making a fool of myself. I think the biggest failure is NOT trying. If you don’t put yourself out there, you will never know what could have been and even if you fail, there is always something to learn from it. Failures are great teachers and quite frankly I believe that either you succeed or you learn!’ Failures are just stepping stones to success. We only have one life to live, so take all the chances you want and be whatever you want to be. Try everything!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At the current time, there are three channels of work that I am engaged in and very proud of. One of course is my project management work in the IT area, my non-profit Fruitfully Yours that works to prevent food waste and fight food insecurity in the San Gabriel Valley community and thirdly my venture, Fruitfully Yours Living, where my goal is to inspire the world to live their best and healthiest lives inspired by the Blue Zones. As part of Fruitfully Yours Living, I teach plant-rich recipes via conducting cooking classes in the community and online via my YouTube channel by the same name,
All these three journeys have been a natural progression of wanting to pursue my passions, do something about issues that I feel strongly about and about wanting to make a difference.
Working on these three paths, requires not being afraid to take the plunge, not being afraid of failures, hard work, consistency and not giving up. Additionally, if you choose to do what you love, then work feels fun,
Overcoming challenges requires creative thinking but is part of the process of keeping moving forward. In fact that is one of the lessons I’ve learned along the way~to keep going come what may. The pace may vary from walking to running to flying, but the idea is to keep going.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love local farmer’s markets so those would be definitely be on the itinerary. Farm stays, hiking, canoeing, a game of pickle ball or two, taking a pottery class, visiting ethnic markets, would definitely be some of the other things we would indulge in.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Firstly, I cannot do without the support of my family, my husband and son who I live with and who allow me the space to explore my passions. Secondly, for my non-profit, Fruitfully Yours, where we prevent food waste and food insecurity, we cannot do without the support of our terrific team of volunteers and general supporters and champions of our work.
