We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanessa Narvios and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vanessa, how do you think about risk?

When I think of taking risks I often equate that to jumping out of an airplane or bungee jumping, of which both things, I can confidently say I would never do! That type of risk taking is for sure not my forte. Moving across the world to a place I’ve never been to, a country where I don’t know a single person, or can speak a single word of the language…… no problem!

Looking back at my life and the interesting twists and turns it’s taken, It’s pretty apparent that taking risks and putting myself ‘out there’ is something that comes very naturally to me. When an opportunity for growth arrises, I do take time to calculate the potential downfalls, however as a ‘glass full’ type of person, if it’s something I know will move me forward and closer to achieving my long term goals, I’m in!

Being comfortable with risk has allowed me to live in 4 countries ( Spain. Mexico, China, Bali ), start several businesses and grow successful teams within those businesses, become proficient 3 languages, travel solo to several countries, speak on stages in front of 100’s of people, and much more!

Without having a healthy relationship with risk, there’s no way I would have been able to accomplish even half of the things that I’ve been fortunate enough to do so already.

What should our readers know about your business?

Before I jump into my business, I think it’ll be imporant to shed some light onto how I got to this point. So here goes…

Ever since I was a little girl, I always had a feeling that I was different. That the place I lived, the people I was surrounded by, that it was all temporary. I always knew I was destined for more, destined for something big! I was going to have a unique and awesome life, that I loved and I knew it! How that would all happen, of course as a child I couldn’t really conceptualize, but I just knew that there was a big-wide world out there, and I needed to see it!

I escaped my small hometown of San Jacinto, CA as soon as I could. I had my sights set on heading the ‘big city’ in Orange County so I could get the real college experience and start turning my life into what I had been dreaming up for so long already. I studied International Business at Cal. State Long Beach and discovered that studying abroad was my ticket to the international life I was craving. I studied in Spain, then in Mexico before heading off to China where I got my Master’s degree and ended up living for 8 1/2 years! Before heading home in March of 2020 due to the pandemic, I had relocated to Bali, Indonesia to continue building my business (and the life of my dreams) working on unique projects from around the world, soaking up the sun and exploring the world.

I started my first business when I was living in Shanghai, China which I ran for about 4 years. I focused on corporate events, marketing and supporting companies moving into the Asia market. My areas of expertise included event planning and execution, business development, project management, strategic partnership building, branding, cross-cultural talent development and mentoring talent.

Due to the pandemic, I returned to the US in March of 2020. During those difficult times, I joined a startup e-commerce company which also had various real estate projects I managed. Ultimately, I decided that I wanted to get back to the industry which I love – events and being my own boss again!! Then in July 2021, I launched a new events company called, Finerr Weddings and Events – and it’s been going great ever since!

Because the Temecula Wine Country is in my backyard, I focus primarily on weddings, which was something I never really saw myself doing, as my background was always in corporate events. However, now, I get so much joy out of making a couple’s special day be stress-free and flawless! It really gives me a new sense of joy and accomplishment, that I can be such an intricate part of someone’s life during such an important moment.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Temecula has turned into such a So-Cal hot-spot, and for a very good reason! There’s lots to do here, and it’s getting better and better all the time.

No visit would be complete to Temecula without a trip to one the wineries. Now there are over 50 in the area, and they are all so different. Some of my faves of Peltzer, Altisma, Bottia and Akash.

For sure a stop off for lunch or a day on the cource at TCI – Temecula Creek Inn is a must!

Lastly – you can’t miss coming to Old Town Temecula while you’re in town- known for it’s great bars, restaurants and shops.  I’m also very excited to mention that the newest project I’ve had the pleasure to work on and develop, 4th Street Garage – Hot Rod Bar and Grill will be opening in September 2022!! We’ll be serving up delicious BBQ smoked meats coupled by refreshing drinks and you can relax and enjoy changing classic car show. Check out all our updates on Instagram at @4thstreetgaragetemecula

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

Well they say it ‘takes a village’ and that couldn’t be more true! So many people have contributed to my success over the years, this is just the short-list

– My mom – for all the late nights and long hours she worked to help fuel my success, my education and my life experiences. Thank you.

– My sister – for opening up her home to me when I showed up on her doorstep amidst the global shut-down, loving me as your twin for all these years. Thank you.

– My best friend – for our beautiful friendship, long chats, shared passion for life, business, rooftop cocktails and becoming the best versions of ourselves. Thank you.

– My love – for helping me realize my strengths, knowledge and for showing me what it really means to be loved. I will be forever grateful that our paths crossed. Thank you.
