We had the good fortune of connecting with Vance Cassaro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vance, why did you pursue a creative career?
I started Plasma Craft Art as a side business to make a little extra money on the side aside from my day job as a service technician for an equipment company. The side business began to pick up to the point where I was working nights in my garage every night until 9pm or sometimes even until midnight. At some point I chose to make the decision to take the plunge and go full time with Plasma Craft Art. I have now been full time since April 1st, 2021. I enjoy being able to give the client what they want and seeing the look on their face when they receive their artwork, weather it be a metal sign, metal art, company logo made out of steel, metal sculpture or even a custom made gate or handrail. Please check out some of my metal artwork on Instagram at plasma_craft_art_official. Thanks for the support!!!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The metal art I make is a combination of graphic design, and steel in one. I can pretty much make any design out of steel. I also make custom furniture, gates, signs, logos,, or any metal fabrication. I have made some metal art for people of all walks of life and made some really great friendships along the way. I started this as a side business and it blew up over the course of 4 years out of my garage and now doing it full time in a shop now in Santa Fe Springs, Ca. I have been welding and fabricating for 20 years and an artist since birth. I combined the two with my experience in graphic design and came up with Plasma Craft Art. It has been a lot of work to get we’re I am today but I still have a long way to go. I continue to share my artwork with the world in my Instagram page plasma_craft_art_official feel free to take a look and give a follow, we appreciate the support! I also enjoy working with the customer to make their vision come to life. Thank you for your interest in my work.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a simple man so I tend to keep the same company, occasionally I’ll step out of the box. I normally take friends from out of town down to HB to get a cold one at one of the bars on Main Street, then go to our local hole in the wall Korean BBQ spot in Cerritos then back to the house and have a fire out back and sit around the fire and enjoy a cold beverage around the fire and tell stories and share dreams. I would also like to take them to the local VFW by my house the post 9148 in La Mirada, you can always find a friend and a great story or two from the veterans the men and women that make it possible for all of us to enjoy the freedom we do every day. I always enjoy just entertaining friends right at home, fire up the grill and through a couple steaks on and have a couple beers and enjoy each other’s company and conversation.
houtout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give thanks to my family, friends and most of all my supporters who have trusted me and continue to trust me to make something they have as a vision and dream come to life. I have made some very important and sentimental pieces of metal artwork for people from all walks of life. I appreciate every single one of you and much love. If it was not for my supporters I would not be able to pursue my passion as an artist and continue to make some awesome metal art for you all. Cheers
