Hi Valeria Pena, what do you want people to remember about you?
Providing our clients with a space where they can share laughter and joy is a meaningful legacy. Embracing an organized lifestyle grants us more time to invest in activities we cherish, and the environment we inhabit significantly influences our mood. Our goal is to cultivate a new way of living that enriches people’s lives. We firmly believe in the transformative power of our work, as evidenced by the positive impact it has on our clients’ lives with each service we provide. Our mission is to enhance their quality of life and reshape their perspective on home organization. As we often say, ‘In the simplicity of the moment, that’s where magic happens; that’s where life is lived’—in every smile from our clients lies the true testament to our legacy!.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Final Touch is a Home Organization and interior design business. As decluttering experts, we believe that organization and order are fundamental to a well-balanced life. Our mission is to help our clients simplify their daily routines without losing sight of their needs. Each client is unique; therefore, their solution should be personalized. We need to understand their lifestyle to design a project that is efficient for them. In recent years, home organization has become popular due to social media. They showcase glamorous, complex displays and expensive makeover solutions. These are beautiful and very attractive, but not maintainable or affordable for everyone. That’s why we have developed a methodology where each client feels heard and recognized, regardless of their budget, space, or lifestyle. It’s always possible to create harmonious, aesthetic, and organized spaces.
In this short time, The Final Touch has given us many experiences and a new life goal. It is not always easy to be an entrepreneur, but it is definitely very satisfying. We are excited for our future in this profession and to see the new challenges, lessons, and successes that will come with it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We keep a ‘MUST-DO & GO’ list on our phones ready to share whenever friends and family come to visit us. Our first stop after the airport will be Mitch’s Seafood, renowned for its fresh-caught fish tacos in SD. The New Children’s Museum and Park always promise a delightful time for all the family, as does the SD Zoo and Safari. For some outdoor fun, we grab a cardboard box and head to Olympus Park in Encinitas, where the kids can enjoy sliding down the synthetic turf hill. Another favorite is spending the day at The Powerhouse Park in Del Mar and getting a Del Mar Pizza on the beach or enjoying a day in La Jolla; Kids are always thrilled by The Cave Store and La Jolla Cove where they can see the sea lions and then eat at Hurumama Noodles, their character buns are amazing. The USS Midway Museum is both educational and fascinating for all ages. Another great option is catching a baseball game or a Wave FC match at Snapdragon Stadium. The Nautical History Gallery at Liberty Station is a Must-See! We highly recommend it. For hiking lovers, a great outdoor family plan is to explore Annie’s Canyon Trail or the Torrey Pines Trail then head to the best burgers, The Crack Shack in Encinitas, and we always make time to sample the local beer at Harland’s Brewery at One Paseo followed by a treat from Handel’s ice cream. Having a drink-snack at Hotel Coronado is a must, and Superbloom Cafe is our go-to spot for coffee. And, of course, no visit is complete without a trip to a speakeasy! (there are too many to mention!.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our families are undeniably our driving force and greatest inspiration, leading us to embark on this project. Our friends have been incredible cheerleaders and supporters along the way. Yet, there are special individuals who deserve significant recognition in our lives for providing the foundation to create this project. My grandmother, the love of my life and my guiding light, instilled in me the values of orderliness and dedication. Through her exemplary life and unwavering devotion, she demonstrated how a clean, organized, and harmonious home can foster immense happiness and strengthen family bonds. Denise’s father who has always stood by her side as a great mentor, instilling in her the entrepreneurial spirit and the determination to pursue her dreams and goals.
