Meet Ty Nolte | Makeup Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ty Nolte and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ty, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always had an eye for fashion and beauty. When I first started doing makeup, I was applying it to myself. Creating looks no one would dare wear out the house. But it made me feel powerful in my own skin! I had this confidence that no one could take away from me. I wanted to share the way makeup made me feel with other people. When I’m creating or with a client, I feel a warmth and happiness, and I know when they leave my chair they feel the same way too! I turned my passion into a business, I never thought that loving fashion and beauty would get me where I am today.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to look at makeup as a creative outlet for anyone! Everyone has their own unique makeup style or look, something they prefer to wear everyday or occasionally that sets them apart from everyone else. As a makeup artist I feel my job is to either help you find that look or help you bring that look to life. I think what sets me apart from others is understanding just that. Not everyone wants to look the same as everyone else. Being able to customize any beauty enhancements to my clients needs is what I do best! To get where I am today in my profession took a lot of hard work, staying consistent, showing up for MYSELF, staying confident and most importantly PRACTICE. It hasn’t been an easy road, I think you deal with so much being in the beauty industry, but having tunnel vision, perfecting your craft, and not caring what people think is what helped me face a lot of challenges. One of the biggest lessons I learned along the way is “never give up” what is for YOU will always be for you. I also learned to keep the RIGHT people around you. The ones who want to see you win! Likeminded individuals who you can grow with and build with together. When I first started doing makeup my main goal was just to put a smile on my clients face, but it has evolved into so much more for me. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to first shoutout my supporters, my clients, the people who push me to keep doing what I love to do. Without them I wouldn’t be this far. I appreciate every single person who has ever booked with me and the people who continue to book. I also want to shoutout my biggest supporter my fiancé who has been there every step of the way, who constantly pushes me to keep going!
