We had the good fortune of connecting with Tsvetelina Mitseva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tsvetelina, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I have dedicated a significant portion of my work to supporting our veterans. Through my work with them, I have seen firsthand the challenges that they face in adjusting to civilian life after their service. Unfortunately, the VA’s limited approval of alternative treatments often leaves many veterans with unresolved trauma that affects all aspects of their lives. Each year, around 200,000 service members transition back into civilian life, and while many are able to adjust successfully, a significant number struggle with PTSD, addictions, traumatic brain injuries, incarceration, and homelessness. It’s unrealistic to expect someone who has experienced the horrors of war to simply return to a “normal” life. In my work over the past few years, I’ve focused on helping veterans recover from the symptoms they’ve been suffering from for years. Witnessing their transformation and newfound sense of purpose has been extremely rewarding. As the daughter of a police officer, I feel a deep sense of duty to help those who have put their lives on the line for our country, and I am honored to witness the positive impact that alternative treatments can have on their recovery.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a holistic therapy practitioner who’s dedicated to empowering individuals to break free from trauma symptoms, reconnect with their wholeness, and find meaning and fulfillment in their lives. My primary focus is on Therapeutic Breathwork, which I infuse with other holistic modalities such as Yoga, Reiki, and other trauma-informed practices to support my clients with a comprehensive blend of holistic and clinical-based approaches. By emphasizing the connection between mind, body, and spirit, I help clients achieve deep healing and transformation on all levels. Sadly, many people are unaware of the root causes of their mental and physical “conditions”, and this often leads to misdiagnosis and unnecessary treatments. Unprocessed trauma can impact almost every aspect of an individual’s life, including relationships, behaviors, beliefs, thought patterns, and physical and mental health. Trauma is often the driving force behind overdrinking, smoking, recurring physical conditions, hormonal imbalances, inability to sustain healthy relationships, low self-esteem, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, inability to say NO, overworking, pornography, perfectionism, and many other challenges we face on a daily basis.
Addressing trauma can be life-changing because it has the potential to resolve deep-buried emotional and physical issues that have been hindering an individual’s overall well-being on so many levels. Throughout breathwork treatment, individuals have the opportunity to discover their personal limitations that inhibit their health and relationships and work on ways to overcome them to better their mental and emotional well-being.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is seeing clients become truly alive, and reconnect with themselves, and those around them after years of pain and suffering. Witnessing individuals overcome severe PTSD and embrace life again is truly inspiring, and it is why I am committed to sharing the power of breathwork and other holistic modalities with as many individuals as possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’ll start the day at Sunset Cliffs, that’s perfect for a morning hike that can take you down to a small, secluded beach that’s less busy and is one of my favorite hidden spots. Next, we’ll head over to the Ocean Beach farmers market to sample some of the best local food and browse handcrafted items made by talented local artists. Afterward, we’ll make our way to South Beach Bar and Grill, a beloved local haunt that serves up some of the best fish tacos in town. As we enjoy our meal, we’ll take in the beautiful sunset over the OB pier. Cabrillo National Monument is another favorite place for an easy hike which boasts breathtaking views of San Diego from above. From there, we’ll head to Shelter Island to check out Bali Hai, one of the best happy hour spots in my opinion that serve up tasty Hawaiian food and live ukulele music. Another great spot is Coronado Island, a picturesque area that’s perfect for a bike ride. We’ll stop by the historic Hotel Del, go for some shopping at local charming boutiques in the area before wrapping up our day at Paradise Gelato-my sweet spot for ice cream and gelato. We’ll definitely dedicate a few hours to Balboa Park, to check out the museum of us and any art exhibitions as well as just to take. stroll around the different gardens. If we’re feeling hungry, we’ll make our way to Taste of Himalayas( Indian, Nepalese, Tibetan) or Muzita (Etiopean), two family-owned restaurants that I believe serve some of the best ethnic cuisines in the city, you won’t be disappointed. And if you’re a vegan or vegetarian, like me–my favs are Donna Jean-their housemade cheese is phenomenal, Plumeria -vegan Asian fusion, or Trilogy great variety of all plant-based dishes.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I am grateful to my parents. They are amazing human beings who taught me how to love, be kind and pursue my dreams. They have always inspired me to be a better person through their actions. I honestly won’t be where I am without their support and care. Another important factor in my success has been the support of my friends and my fiancé. Being away from my family who is all in Europe has been difficult, but my loved ones here in the US have become like family to me. They have been there for me through thick and thin, offering emotional support and encouragement I am grateful to have such a supportive network of people in my life, and I know that I owe them a great deal.
