We had the good fortune of connecting with Tom Kirkham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tom, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting Kirkham IronTech was the typical E-Myth book revelation, I had no other choice after the .com bust. I am passionate about Kirkham IronTech because of being placed on an ISIS kill list almost 8 years ago due to a data breach.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’ve been in technology all of my life, including being on the internet before there was a world wide web. I’m a successful technology investor and for some reason, I can almost see where things are going. This along with a truly remarkable staff, not only makes us thought leaders in the industry, but our client business relationship is designed in such a matter that we are all on the same team. A very nice feeling.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Welcome to Fort Smith, AR! If you were to come to visit me for a week, I’d take you to one of the many numerous large deep water lakes and include trips to Eureka Springs, Hot Springs, Clinton Presidential Library, and of course Crystal Bridges, a world-class art museum. It would be nothing but local food. Catfish, BBQ, and believe it or not, we have a huge Asian cuisine presence. Thai, Laotian, Vietnamese, and others abound.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shout out Nicole Perlroth and her book “This is How They Tell Me The World Ends”. The best book on cybersecurity and the true global risk to us all.

Shout out to Anna David with Legacy Launchpad for publishing my first Amazon Best Selling Book titled “Surviving the Worldwide Cyber Pandemic”.

Shout out to Klaus Schwab, with the World Economic Forum. His speech on the global cyber pandemic was also a seminal moment in my realization of the seriousness of a global cyber pandemic.
